INTRODUCTION
Mobile phones, also known as cell phones or wireless phones, are hand-held phones with built-in antennas. Unlike home phones, cell phones can be carried from place to place with a minimum of fuss. This makes them a good choice for people who want to be in touch with other people even when they are away from the house. Cell phones are a vast improvement over the telecommunications technology of the past, and have become a necessity of modern life. As always, communication is vital, and cell phones will help us to better communicate with the key people in our life. Using a cell phone is one of the first steps we may take to participate effectively in the emerging global economy.
In addition to being a telephone, modern mobile phones also support many additional services, and accessories, such as SMS (or text) messages, email, Internet access, gaming, Bluetooth, infrared, camera, MMS messaging, MP3 player, radio, GPS, alarm clock etc.
Cellular phones have had a major impact on our lives and the way that we perform every day tasks. Many of these changes are apparent, while others we may not even be aware of. Cell phones have brought a whole new meaning to the term multitasking. Twenty years ago, it was not possible to talk to the office while you were at the grocery store picking up some necessary items. You could never have had a three-way business conference while you were fixing dinner or been able to deal with a business client from home while caring for a sick child. Cell phones have enabled us to do various tasks all at the same time. Many of these advantages we do not even notice. Cell phones have certainly made our lives much more convenient.

The major manufacturers of mobile phones include Nokia, Samsung, LG Electronics, motorola, RIM, Sony Ericsson, Apple Inc., HTC Corporation, Panasonic, Palm, blackberry, siemens etc.
