Mockingjay Katniss Selfless Quotes

“Fire is catching! And if we burn you burn with us!”. A quote from Mockingjay written by Suzanne Collins. That quote shows how the main character Katniss is fearless and how she wants to destroy Snow and take down the capitol. She goes through many changes. Katniss ends up being a person who goes kind of crazy and wants to die. But that’s at the end of the book at the beginning she was selfless, fearless, and caring.
Katniss Everdeen is a selfless girl, and puts other people’s needs before hers. She even isn’t scared when bombs are being blown up around her. According to the text Katniss said, ‘’I hear the warning note in Haymitch’s voice and know what's coming. Don’t even think about-!’’ I yank the earpiece free and let it hang from its wire’’(95). In this situation when Katniss goes right out in the open where she could get shot while other people would take cover. If I were her I would take cover the minute that I hear that bombs are coming. So Katniss is very selfless because she would die trying to help people.
Another character trait of Katniss is that she is fearless in scary situations. After Katniss hears that Prim has not made it down into the bunker, because the bombs are coming to district 13 and she runs back to the surface to try to find her. She doesn't care that she is not supposed to leave that place. In the text it said,
One of the times that she is caring is when she wouldn’t leave anybody behind in her mission. In the text it says, ‘’There’s a human cry from below. ‘Someone’s still alive,’ I plead’’ (312). I think that that shows how she cares about anybody, not just the people who she knows. Even though she knows that she can get killed by going back Katniss does it anyway. She also ignores Gale’s instructions to try to save that person, but she is too late to do anything. Overall Katniss is caring because she won’t leave anybody behind and will do anything to try to help
