Moderate Conservative Stereotypes
My label assigned upon completing the quiz was Moderate Conservative which usually represent a mix of both liberal and conservative ideologies. Did you know that majority Americans classify themselves as Moderate Conservative because they are more moderate than conservative or liberal. The meaning that stands behind this label is that Moderate Conservative people strongly believe that the standards of morality and safety should be enforced by the government no matter what. Another belief is that each person should be responsible for there own financial matters, and that free-market competition is better for people than central planning by the government. However, unlike my representative Joaquin Castro who is a Libertarian-leaning Liberal, which is basically the opposite of myself. Mr. Castro believes in tolerance for different people and lifestyles. My representative also believes that a good society is best achieved by the government redistributing wealth and the governments purpose is to decide which programs are good for society, and how much should be spent on …show more content…
Castro ideology doesn’t fully match my congressional district because both of the other senators are both under the republican party unlike Mr. Castro who is under the democratic party. The Texas governor which is continuing to build on his record of his strong, conservative leadership is, Gregory Abbot which also a republican that has more similar beliefs in the conservative field like myself. So basically I don’t think that Mr. Castro is a good representative for my district because more civilians are like myself rather than supporting the beliefs of his ideology label. The state of Texas is very strong in the republican party and is against most of Mr. Castro beliefs which could be a problem. I think his representative figure would fit better in a district in California, a very democratic state. Mr. Castro has a lot more in common with there beliefs, such as same sex

In the Political Typology Quiz, the result says my best fit is Solid Liberal. Solid Liberal is wealthy and highly educated. They strongly support the social safety net such as welfare, unemployment benefit, universal healthcare, homeless shelters, and public transport and take very liberal positions on nearly all issues. Solid Liberals believe that the government should do more to help the needy, even if it means going deeper into debt. It says that they always vote Democratic and followed Barack Obama in 2012 and remain supportive of him today. Another characteristic is that Solid Liberals are very optimistic about the nation’s future. They believe that America’s success is linked to its ability to change, rather than its dependence on long-standing…

The immigrant groups that have come to the United States of America have suffered from several stereotypes that White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) had created. Some of the immigrant groups that had the same stereotypes are the Irish, Chinese, and the Mexicans. WASPs used specific Political Cartoons to stereotype the Irish, Chinese, and Mexican as inferior races because of how they looked and as violent because of their past. To WASPs, they believed that not only God made the hierarchy, but that they could prove it.…

After finishing the quiz, my Personal Score was 48% and my Economic Score was 32%. Then, my political philosophy results labeled me as a “Moderate Liberal Populist.” Upon reading more into the quiz results, I find that, since my Economic Score is below 40%, it meant that I “believe that a good society is best achieved by the government distributing wealth [and that] the government’s purpose is to decide which programs are good for society, and how much should be spent on each program” (ontheissues.org).…

There are certain stereotypes about libertarians that hold some truth. Many people who followed this movement, do so only to advance a personal agenda and do not follow the whole ideology. There are a couple of people in this group who only use the label “libertarian” just to agree with Democrats and Republicans. Also, some individuals joined just so they could spout anti-government hate. For example, Alex Jones associated himself with libertarians just so he could get attetion to his cause. He runs an entire news channel on misinformation or scare tactics so he could influence other people to follow him. This group is known to also have a couple of nut jobs here and there, but at the end of the day, it should not take away from their core principles for which libertarians stand for.…

I tend to associate myself as a Democrat so I stand on the left side of the spectrum on most issues. The results of the quiz completely matched up to my expectation. I don’t agree with liberals on every issues so I knew I wouldn’t be too much to the left of the spectrum. I also tend to think that people need to be told what they can or cannot do because without this, we will most likely have chaos as we have a diverse population with each wanting different things for themselves. This belief shows me as an authoritarian. The results proved me right on both cases as it showed me to be in the left authoritarian quadrant. The exact result is: Economic left/right -1.25 and Social libertarian/authoritarian 2.46. So I am not too liberal or too authoritarian.…

We all have encountered some type of stereotype or prejudices. A stereotype that I had to face was age prejudice by me being so young sometimes people don't set the high expectations for you that other people would at an older age because they expect for you to make mistakes. At times my mindset isn't where most kids are at my age. I skipped pre k and I am supposed to be in the 8th grade. When I tell people my age they be like " OMG you are young to be the grade that you are in" this is a perfect example of what I am stating that people sometimes think that you have to be average and can't go over and beyond your years.…

There is much about diversity in the United States that I have learned about but there is much that I have yet to encounter. There are many things that have also been brought to my attention or have been more so recognized in my eyes. We all have an understanding of what goes on or what is involved in our country but we rarely are aware of all the details of what goes on with each group. The complexity of each group has its own unique characteristics that have impelled me to understand and to better relate and accept other groups as a part of society.…

In American society it is a social norm for women to be delicate and vulnerable, they are seen as too weak to do the same things men do. This was especially true during the time period in which the stories “The Yellow Wallpaper,” “Jury of her peers,” and “Story of an Hour” were written in. The characteristics of gender roles, shown through in each individual story and hint at the stereotypes that were places on women of that time period. These specific female characters don’t let those stereotypes define them, they break free and show their true strengths. Though their societies would suggest them fragile, the main characters -- Louise Mallard, Minnie Foster Wright, and the narrator of “The Yellow Wallpaper” -- respectively presented in the…

    Sexism In America

I believe that I fall under liberal on the political spectrum. I have very liberal beliefs and I have very progressive ideas and think the government should be more involved in people's lives. For example I believe that the government should be doing a much better job at protecting the earth and implement more laws to save the earth from global warming. Another very important issue that I believe the government is not doing enough to prevent is racism and sexism in America. Both these issues are prevalent in America and I believe that the government needs to do more to address these issues. Since Donald trump has become president I believe sexism, racism, and global warming issues have taken a backseat, to other less important issues. Conservatives…
