Modern Day Popular Culture Analysis

I believe this quote describes our modern day popular culture. It seems that the culture is overly concerned with being normal. The media controls what we think, hear, and see. With the use of deception, they deem their belief as normal and demonize any questioning of that belief. The standards that are being set may not match our ideologies, despite this many still try conforming to them. Why would an individual not follow the crowd? It's very difficult for many people to stand alone in a belief system that they can only understand. The act of being a follower leads many to self destruction due to their unwillingness to progress for themselves.
