Mom's Demand Action Rhetorical Analysis
Every time you open up a newspaper/magazine you will see products being pushed on you with some assurance that are almost repetitious and oddly humorous in nature. This is advertising. Advertising is an extremely powerful medium which can appeal to people spiritually, mentally and physically, by giving us the opportunity to give us the life that we want to pursue. This can be found in the form of products, services and information that give us impressions of change or an urge to do something. This essay will be focusing on the lobby group known as Moms Demand Action, this group has but only one goal, to make sure that there are less guns in America and give them a better understanding of guns all in the interest of child safety. This slogan uses this rhetorical question to stimulate inner thoughts and emotions about the two children and what they possess. The red is once again used text however its repeated in the text, which as stated before puts all emotions and maximises them. The text also makes us want to empathise with the people who send their children to school and creates a sought of protection discourse that is repeated heavily throughout the rest of the advertisement. The text in the advertisement also gets us thinking a lot about humanity and how we are allowing these weapons to be bought without a licence, which are then somehow taken to schools and people get …show more content…
The Moms Demand Action set of advertisements tells us that we should be looking into the changing of American gun laws so that incidents like mass genocide and massacres aren’t occurring as much in the United States as it has been, it does this through different uses of symbolism, racial and gender stereotyping and rhetorical questions. Advertisement plays an important role in society it is a form of communication that portrays and enlightens all senses this deconstruction highlighted the hidden connotations and ideologies that an advertisement plays and that it is needed to communicate these on a deeper more subconscious

    The screeching cry of a lost child sounds across the entire building through the crowd of people after a young boy is alone for only a minute. This image comes from an advertisement which includes a gloomy setting showing the sadness of something to appeal to the audience’s emotions. The “Quit Smoking” commercial, produced by Fiona Sharkie, starts with a mother and her child walking together through a crowd of people; toward the middle of the video, the mom and her child get separated making the child very upset and scared.     There are multitudes of unique and genuine advertisements that span from tv advertisements to ads in magazines. Due to the differentiation in the means of communication, both the structural aspects and the presentation of the advertisements vary paramountly.When crafting magazine advertisements, the producer is restricted to specific means of broadcasting their beliefs in essence. The advertiser has to assimilate both physical and literal elements in a equitable manner to fully convey what the argument is claiming. However, this circumspection subjects them to select the most applicable pictures and terms. Furthermore, in order to avoid failure and the chances of a page flipped too early, a magazine advertisement has to utterly enthrall the consumer's attention.. One particular advertisement conveying these said messages can be found in an issue of “Game Informer” magazine. There is a much deeper message being conveyed than just claiming it is “army strong” to live life to the fullest.
