Monologue Of Mice And Men And Crooks
I slowly crept towards the barn until I could see who was inside. There were crooks, Candy and Lennie. I tried to stay quiet but as I tiptoed near the horses they all got alarmed and gave away my position. Their heads all turned in synch.
“Curly ain't been here,” Candy Immediately hissed at me.
Why does no one ever want to talk to me. A slight rage was starting to build up inside me. Like I didn't know where Curley had gone. I looked around at their faces. Candy and crooks kept looking down at their feet. Meanwhile lennie couldn't take his eyes off of me. Now the rage inside of me had escaladed even higher. The once cool summer breeze now tuned sticky and muggy.
“Maybe you better go along to your own house now. We don't want no trouble.” Crooks uttered.

Was it a crime to talk to people. What made me so unapproachable.

It was quiet inside the small white house with a couple of animals outside. There are three small bedrooms, but only two are occupied. There was no other house in sight. Without Lennie it didn’t feel right to have rabbits at the house. Nothing has been the same since the death of Lennie. George has been either working outside or sleeping. George and Candy have not talked much. If they do talk it is only about work. George and Candy stayed at the ranch until they got enough money to buy the house. The days at the ranch after Lennie left were rough. Curley was either at a bar drinking away or with a different girl each day. The boss got a new worker to replace Lennie. The new worker had a very bad attitude and was extremely rude. Luckily shortly after the new worker came Candy and George earned enough money to buy the house.…

He returned to the calm, cold ranch and quietly entered the workers bunkhouse. The men all lay in a deep slumber from the hard days work. George sat down on his damp bunk and stared at Lennies old, deckendant bunk. George was angry, he believed that Curley had defeated his intelligence and won. He turned to the white-washed wall on his bunk and his mind started to project memories of the times him and Lennie had shared in the past. A tear trickled down his cheek as the picture of Lennie face after he had dropped to the floor was replaying over and over again in his mind. He tossed and turned uncomfortably on his bunk going through all the options he had and how he came to the dyer end that it did.…
