No, Mexico won’t be able to maintain the variety of corn that they have. In order to have different types of corn you need different types of seeds to grow different varieties of corn.Monsanto is a company that buys other seed companies so they can be one of the only companies with seeds.Monsanto is a company that genetically modifies their seeds.According to the future of foods, Monsanto has bought 8 billion dollars worth of companies and now has 11,000 companies today. This makes 7 billion dollars worth of seed companies giving their seeds to Monsanto. According to the future of foods 97% of the 20th century varieties of vegetables have gone extinct due to GMO's.
