Moon Landing Research Papers
The second reason the moon landing really did happen is from all the data that has been collected. Even samples that were collected back then are still being used in experiments today. Randy L. Korotev, Ph.D., a research professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences in Arts & Sciences, has studied lunar samples and their chemical compositions since he was an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin and "was in the right place at the right time" in 1969 to be a part of a team to study some of the first lunar samples. "You can look at the moon and know that the moon has been hit a lot by very large meteorites," says Randy L. Korotev. "We know this occurred some 3.9 billion years ago. "What we don’t know, however, the history

“It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, but little do the teenagers know that something sinister is waiting for them on the desolate surface of the moon.” (book jacket Harstad). Three teenagers have won the opportunity to go to the moon for a week, and this is how it happened. Mia, from Norway, is upset because her parents signed her up for the 2019 Moon Trip “raffle” so to speak, but, the thing is, she didn’t want to go. Midori, from Japan, is excited for this trip because she can be free and is able to explore different places other than Japan. Antoine, from France, just broke up with his cheating girlfriend and never wants to see her again. In the science-fiction book 172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad, the theme is that trying new things could have a positive impact on one’s life. Mia, Midori, and Antoine are all trying something new, and this experience could have a positive impact on their life, but unfortunately, some of them don't think so.…

    3. Describe the “big splash” theory of the Moon’s origin? The Big Splash Theory is the current theory that explains the formation of the Moon. This theory states that approximately 4.5 billion years ago, the Moon was formed as a result of an object approximately the size of Mars colliding with Earth, causing less dense portions to be blasted into space. The clash created high temperatures and pressures, which in turn caused denser materials (like Iron) to become part of the Earth’s core. The less dense materials were blasted into space adding to the material orbiting the Earth. These less dense portions gravitated toward each other, creating the Moon. Evidence supporting the Big Splash Theory came from rock and soil samples taken during the Apollo landings on the Moon.…

During the Apollo 13 mission, the crew was faced with odds that were not in their favor. They were faced with many uncertainties that would possibly be fatal if they went wrong. It all started when a crew member stirred the o2 tanks, and the tanks burst. With this predicament, they could not possibly land on the moon. Mission Control or "Houston" had to come up with a flawless plan to get the U.S spacemen back to the Earth.…

When Galileo first turned his telescope to the moon, he had no idea that he was about to see something that would cast doubt upon centuries-old beliefs. At the time of Galileo, science was based upon the teachings of Aristotle. According to Aristotle, the Earth was the center of the universe. All heavenly bodies, including the moon, were perfect spheres that moved around the Earth with circular motions or combinations of circular motions, and the Earth was the only source of imperfection in the universe. According to the moon truther, there are two reasons why he describes the moon as a hologram. The first piece of evidence of why he thinks the moon…

One theory is that the moon must have broken away from Earth, when the earth was still a rotating ball of molten rock. Earth might have been spinning so fast that part of our planet separated into space, this could be why our chemical composition is similar to the moon. Fission theorist stated that the Pacific ocean might have been the place where the moon material broke off.…

The actual launch of the Apollo 13 was on April 11, 1970. Two days into the mission it looked like the smoothest flight that the Apollo program had ever seen. "The spacecraft is in real good shape as far as we are concerned. We're bored to tears down here." said Joe Kerwin of mission control (3). At 55 hours the crew held a TV broadcast for 49 minutes where they showed off their living conditions and how they worked in weightless situations. Nine minutes after the broadcast mission control instructed that Odyssey to give their oxygen tanks a stir and moments later oxygen tank No.2 in the service module exploded, due to an exposed fan wire. The eruption then damaged oxygen tank No.1, causing them to start to lose oxygen rapidly. The cover of…

Many proofs of the landing have been released to the public. For example, there is one piece of evidence that is impossible to have been from Earth. A .6mm glass spherule produced by a meteorite impacting onto the lunar soil. Dr. Marc Norman explains, "We've found a particle of fresh glass in moon rocks that were produced by explosive volcanic activity and by meteorite impacts over 3 billion years ago." In basic terms, this specific particle could have only been produced on the moon here on Earth water rapidly breaks down such volcanic glass in only a few million years. Which leads theorists to question themselves if it really indeed happened. But an open investigation is supported by people overseas too. Vladimir Markin, the spokesman for Russia's investigative Committee, penned a column for the Russian newspaper Izvestia focusing on the US FIFA corruption investigations. The list of investigations included the Apollo mission that everyone is debating about. Markin Cites the loss of the original Apollo 11 moon landing video and the “disappearance” of 400 kilograms of lunar rocks collected during Apollo missions. How can 400 kilograms of lunar rocks just disappear lunar rocks are not things you just…

Each of these four texts uses essential rhetorical techniques in order to effectively get across each purpose, these purposes being quite different in each text. The Times article is very analytical, while the speech by Safire focuses most heavily on the emotional side of the moon landing in the hypothetical context of the text. Rand’s article paints the launch in an extremely positive and figurative light, while the Hemlock cartoon criticizes the attention that the mission receives given the many crises going on in the world at that time.…

The Apollo Missions were launched by NASA between 1961 and 1975. The missions collected much scientific data that helped us understand more about space and especially the moon. In many of the manned and unmanned missions collected many rock samples. In this certain study they found that the moon had many magma rocks on the moon. This fact surprised many scientists because space is very cold (as we all know) and magma rocks are formed from extreme heat or pressure. The magma rocks were only found in certain parts of the moon and not in others. So we know that the whole moon was obviously not all formed by magma rocks.…

The world has changed throughout the years, as technology has gone better and better. Mankind keeps their knowledge growing even larger than before. As science grows, scientists always ask themselves with the common question, what other things we can discover. As in the astronomy field, it has been years that scientists want to colonize the moon. Until now, the question has not yet answered. Is it worth it to colonize the moon with all of the technology that we have encountered throughout the years? The moon is the only planetary object whose features can be seen without the aid of a telescope. It is also the closest object to our planet large enough for humans to inhabit. When considering long-term space exploration and living, building a moon colony seems like the next logical step. We have the technology to get there and the innovative thinking to be successful. But what are the benefits of a moon colony? Do the risks outweigh the gains? How is such an expensive undertaking feasible in uncertain economic climates? Will we build on the moon in the next decade, or will the dream of a moon colony continue to hang on the horizon, just out of reach? I do not believe that we should colonize the moon with many reasons. Although there are some benefits that we could get out of it, I believe we should not colonize it. Nevertheless, many scientists and astronomers believe that we should colonize the moon for the best of our future.…
