Most Dangerous Game By Richard Connell
I’m doing The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. In the story they hunt big game. Like humans and all kinds of different animals. They hunted to win it all. So let’s get right to it.
Some say there hunters, some are not. “... Some he makes, some beggars. Me he made a hunter”(Connell, Pg 223). I chose this quote because he could be one but not. He thinks he is the best hunter, but what is he's not. Rainford could be the best, but not be until they will never know if they're good or not.
Who is hunted in the story? “Here in my preserve on this island,” he said in the same slow tone, “I hunt more dangerous game.”(Connell, Pg 223) What does Rainsford mean by hunts more dangerous game? He may hunt tigers or even gorillas or elephants. But he

We have all witnessed the typical mystery murder case stories and movies. Surprisingly, we all still react to the stories with shock, like we did not know what the outcome would be; multiple lives that were taken or that one somebody over powering the murderer. In this case, we have a man who hunts animals, but also have another man who is more interested in taking his hunting skills to the next level, which is quite extreme. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, we have the sense of man verse man, but also man verse nature. The question is, who will be defeated?…

In Richard Connell’s short story, “The Most Dangerous Game,” Rainsford changes his entire philosophy about hunting. For example, when Whitney disagreed with him about jaguars he said, “You’re a big-game hunter, not a philosopher. Who cares how a jaguar feels?”(Connell). Rainsford believes animals have no understanding of what is happening, therefore, it’s okay to hunt them. He doesn’t care if they feel pain or understand death and shows no remorse. In addition, when General Zaroff set the hounds to get Rainsford, he “knew now how an animal at bay feels” (Connell). Rainsford has to run away, set traps, and continuously risk his life to have a better chance at surviving. He felt the way animals do when they are being hunted and finally understood…

In “The Most Dangerous Game”, the author uses many methods to develop the characters and how they see the world, themselves, and others around them. First, Rainsford gets stranded on an island after he is talking to a friend on a yacht he was on about how the hunter is dominant and how the animals hunted do not feel anything which could be foreshadowing a change in the story and what it’s based on. After he arrives on the island, Rainsford immediately goes and sees a sign of struggle in bushes and hears shots fired. This, and the way that Rainsford was able to follow the tracks of the hunter, shows that Rainsford is a fairly efficient hunter; that is, showing the audience what the main idea of the story most likely is, which the hunter vs. the hunted.…

The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell, is an original nonfiction story about two hunters who take themselves into the Amazon to hunt down animals. Rainsford, one of the main hunters, ends up finding himself on a mysterious island after an accident occurs. Comparing to the film, the characters throughout the scenes differentiate in many ways. Although, the short story itself is entertaining. The changes such as the shipwreck, a love interest, and character development that the director produces a much more dramatic plot, placing the audience on the edge of their seats.…

In Richard Connell’s short story, “The Most Dangerous Game”, Richard Connell uses Rainsford as a dynamic character to show the reader that hunting is immoral. At the start, Rainsford and Whitney are sailing through the Caribbean on a yacht coursed to Rio for a jaguar hunting trip, when they start a heating conversation about hunting. Rainsford clearly stating his opinion said, “The world is made up of two classes- the hunters and the huntees. Luckily you and I are the hunters.”(14) Rainsford starts our story with the opinion that hunting is an activity made for the hunters of the world. Due to the fact that people are the hunters, it is okay to hunt animals. Rainsford uses the word luckily which foreshadows his future as a hunter and…

Richard Connell author of the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” did an exquisite job of defining mystery, but his story made the statement that there are some people in the world that don't care about animals or their feelings. This is shown in these four statements. First, Rainsford was talking to his friend on the side of a hunting yacht in pitch black saying that no one cares about the Jaguar this may suggest that he is a hardcore, Hunter. Not many people do it now, but there was one point in time where hunting was done in excessive amounts and most killed for sport , not for food.…
