Mariya Sultanova The University life is a time for new and exciting experiences as well as a time to explore diverse and innovative ideas. What could be better than traveling to a foreign country to learn about their ideas, history, and culture? I believe that getting master’s degree at Nanjing University of Science and Technology helps me expand my horizons and meet my career goals. To begin, the Chinese culture is an ancient culture of the world. It is more ancient than other cultures in three - five times and has a huge amount of service to humanity. It invented silk and poetry, porcelain and gunpowder, paper arts, two world religions and unique medicine, interesting philosophy and perfect military thought. Thus, to become a specialist or even join to this culture is a good choice for me. People study much less interesting culture, but it is the inexhaustible source, that will help me to expand my understanding of China. Secondly, travelling helps you understand yourself because sometimes we just do not notice things to which we are accustomed. I think that this scholarship gives me the opportunity to evaluate my abilities from the Chinese culture’s perspective and help to find my place in life. Goethe said, “To learn your own language, it is necessary to learn a foreign one”, so the differences will help to see things that we did not notice before. The differences with the Chinese culture are not only cultural differences, but they are your own differences. The man looks in a foreign culture as in a mirror and sees himself. Thirdly, I decided to choose Nanjing University of Science and Technology because it has a wide range of study programs for master, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs to its enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, this university accepts international students, and it has many extensive exchange and cooperation programs. Furthermore, Nanjing University of Science and

Studying Abroad has become increasingly popular amongst college students - and for good reason. Studying in a different country can not only help students achieve more in their adult lives, but ultimately change their life for the better from the experience. Adaptation and tolerance is one benefit a student can gain from studying abroad. By living first hand in a unfamiliar place in allows you to learn empathy and understanding from those different from you. Independence and Confidence are traits commonly reported from students who have lived this experience. Typically a student will travel alone of with a few other friends, being put into new, sometimes scary situations that will for them to think differently then they may have before. By encountering these differences they are allowed to better understand not only the challenges other countries are put in, but the challenges of our own country and the world as a whole. The Study Aboard experience has also been reported to be helpful for students with their careers, finding jobs and marketing themselves better to potential employers. The approach of traveling to countries in far corners of the world means students can compare the culture and lifestyles of people in very diverse places - and come to understand what makes us all unique, but how truly similar people around the world are.…

Yet in spite of its solemn buildings and its lack of fire-escapes, ventilation, sanitation, and up-to-date kitchen facilities, I persist in my assertion that I believe that CPU (China Pharmaceutical University) , in its way, is the greatest school in which I have studied. I am aware that this is an extreme statement and needs the explanation. CPU is much larger in numbers, for example, than my middle school--XMFLS(Xiamen Foreign Language School), and is much richer. To mention XMFLS beside the 13 640 students of CPU sounds ridiculous. In point of money, the endowment of the CPU, which gained from pharmaceutical industries as well as alumnus, seems to leave XMFLS nowhere. Now as a proud student of CPU, I am trying to investigate just how can this peculiar excellence of CPU arises.…
