Movie Diagnostic
The movie Forrest Gump helps identify me as a writer because I have a positive attitude and find inspiration in various places. Like Forrest, I try to make the best out of every situation that I am in. Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks, grew up in the small town of Greenbow, Alabama. Forrest was someone who was never given a chance and rarely accepted into society. He shows how to rise above and beyond what people expect of you.
By comparing and analyzing my writing to the movie Forrest Gump. I have found the main character Forrest and I have many similar traits. The First trait that we both possess is integrity. In my writing I try to show as much integrity as I possibly can. I show this by being honest and by having strong moral principles. Through out the movie Forrest shows this same quality, for example, when his best friend Bubba dies in the war. Forrest carries out Bubba’s wish and opens up Bubba Gump Shrimp, after he is released from the army.
Another thing we both have in common is our compassion. Forrest had a unconditional compassion for so many things. Weather it was his unconditional love for Jenny or his love for ping-pong, he approaches everything with a deep compassion. When I am writing I first try and find out what it is in the assignment I am able to be passionate about. Having compassion when writing is very important, I think it makes me think more deeper into the topic.
The next trait we have in common is that we both have patience. Forrest would show patience when it came to learning. He often struggled at times but he always tried his best to understand. Like Forrest I also have patience, I attempt to approach each assignment with a open mind and am patient
