A Walk to Remember is another extra-ordinary love story. The film is based upon a novel by Nicholas Sparks. The story takes place in a small town; this is the romantic story of a wild child Landon Carter (Shane West) and the preacher’s daughter Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore). Jamie is quiet, religious, nice and intelligent but definitely not sociable. She wears dorky sweaters and dorky dresses. Landon is the campus heartthrob, rich, troublemaker, aimless, and reckless. I can see that he had no plans, no future and no faith in himself. He and his stupid friends convinced a boy to jump off a tower into the river in order to join his gang. The prank goes wrong with the boy ending up in the hospital. Landon gets blamed so his principal gave him a community service to do. He was assigned to tutor students, and to participate in a drama club. He found difficulty in memorizing his lines so he seeks Jamie’s help. In spending time together, Landon learns to worry less about what others think of him and more about doing what he feels is right. The two become friends and a relationship develops. So what happens when the sweet and sensible good girl spends all her time with the arrogant and ignorant bad boy? They fall in love, of course. But as fate would have it, Landon finds himself unwittingly falling in love with plain Jamie, while Jamie tries running away from love until she can no longer deny it. Landon rages, then quietly suffers, upon learning that their love is a love that cannot be. So sad!
Ultimately what makes "A Walk to Remember" so different from the standard teenage films is that
