Movie Report: The Man and His Dream

MOVIE REPORT: THE MAN AND HIS DREAM There is no a fixed pattern that we just come to the school and learn how to do to be a good leader. So many ways could become a good leader, and not all great leaders are perfect. After watch the movie “tucker: the man and his dream”, we could analyze the tucker‘s strengths and weaknesses as a leader in his company, what is the mature qualities of the tucker’s vision contributing the success, and what we learned from tucker’s experiences. This movie is a fictionalized true story about Preston Tucker. He was a man who revolutionized car design in the 1940s. The Tucker’s automobile had many advanced, innovative features: fastback shape, center headlight, independent four-wheel suspension. One of the Tucker's principal features was enhanced passenger safety. However, The Tucker never entered into full production, but its design and innovative mechanical features had captured a larger share of the new-car market and able to compete with other big automobile companies at that time.
Tucker was a man with vision and motivation which are the necessary critical characteristic for a great leader. A good vision is a direction which could lead the people who are interested in the same goals, the people who work with passion and people who want to achieve same vision and fulfillment of life. That is why individuals in an organization come together and work with passion in order to succeed. Tucker had the dream to build a car with many new features: disk brakes, air-cooled rear engine, independent 4-wheel suspension, an additional center headlight that pivoted left and right for better vision when turning, a padded dash, seatbelts, and a pop-out safety windshield.
