Muffet Sewing Shop Analysis
The extension of Miss Muffet sewing shop is consisted of 3 different color of yarn, 3 type of scented wool wash, and 3 different color of wool needle. Like a idea of the kit, the general concept for the extension is also nursery rhyme. So I adopted the idea of baa, baa, black sheep which is suit for subject of wool, and I recreated my own story to have rationale for different colors. My story is about the sheep eating flower so he creates the wool with the color of the flower he ate, and he takes a shower with flower scented wash, that I named wash wash wash, a purple shower. The wool needle remind of bud of the flower, so I named budding baa baa.

The poem's structure is a vital part when creating the complex meanings of the quilt. In the first Stanza, the writer's nostalgic tone brings forth the significance her grandmother's blanket had on her. Waniek writes that she fell "in love with Meema's Indian blanket," (1-2). With these lines, Waniek depicts how she discovered the significance a quilt could have on her life. "Now I have found a quilt" (13) Waniek writes in her second stanza. This line is necessary to create the present tense Waniek needs in order to be optimistic about the future. In the third stanza, Waniek is not only reminiscent but also wishful that her experience with her new quilt will shadow her grandmother's.…

Dreams are the paints of a great artist, and the world is their canvas. Artists are able to produce beautiful art pieces using their ideas and imaginations. Through art, we are able to communicate stories of tragedy, peace, hardship, and ease. In many ways, visual art and written stories can be compared to one another. Like a frame to a picture, the techniques in a short story help keep the story together. As for the elements they can be seen as the painting itself, providing both story and beauty. Both techniques and elements play crucial roles together. In both short stories “The Blues Merchant” and “Rich For One Day”, the influence of the ironic technique towards characterization and theme can be noticeably seen.…

Jason Dorrant was an unlikely candidate for the murder of seven-year-old Alicia Bartlett; he was young, shy, and tended to keep to himself, yet, the Monument Police Department targeted him as their prime suspect after no other leads were found and enlisted the help of one of the greatest interrogators, perhaps the greatest, by the name of Trent, to head the interrogation of the boy. Motivated by a promise of position and power, Trent sets to work on Jason to discover his guilt, or lack thereof, and is soon so consumed by his ambition that he feels he must obtain a confession from Jason at all costs, even if that means a false confession. Being the masterful interrogator that he is, Trent makes quick work of it and, despite knowing the contrary, successfully coerces the boy into a confession of his guilt (Cormier). This is a fictional story that takes place in The Rag and Bone Shop, but we must ask ourselves if this could truly happen today, in reality? Are there not laws that prohibit this kind of action against young children and can an interrogator…

The drawing I chose was the making of the blanket by Esperanza, I believe this blanket represented such a huge cultural identity of who Esperanza and her family really are. The blanket was given to Esperanza from her grandmother Abuelita before they left Mexico to come live in California, this way they can escape Romona’s marriage to the mean uncle. “Look at the zigzag of the blanket. Mountains and valleys. Right now you are in the bottom of the valley and your problems loom big around you. But soon, you will be at the top of a mountain again. After you have lived many mountains and valleys, we will be together.”(51) This blanket was such a huge emotional support mechanism for Esperanza during all her trials in California. So in this paper I want to focus on what the blanket means to Esperanza and how it helped her deal and cope with all the ups and downs. This paper will show why I drew her crocheting the blanket with different colors and what similarities there are between Esperanza and the blanket.…
