Social class can be defined as a status hierarchy in which individuals and groups are classified on the basis of esteem and prestige acquired mainly through economic success and the accumulation of wealth. There are four commonly known social classes in our society and they are the upper class, middle class, working class, and the lower class. Many of these classes have different aspects to them with regards to wealth and family circumstances, which is why multiculturalism can play a major role in this. When dealing with social class, multiculturalism can ultimately improve on recognizing the cultural diversity in our society and promoting the equality of all cultural traditions. Another example of how multiculturalism can help our society is with the use of demographics and observing which type of racial group is living in the four social classes mentioned above. Having diversity in our society is what makes the Untied States an amazing place to live in because of the various types of individuals that live here.
