Music’s Effects on People
What if your life did not have music? It seems like a simple question, but it means a lot. The answer is life would be boring and socially hindered if music didn’t exist in the world. Music is an art of sound and voice to express people’s emotions. Music is played by people for a great many reasons. Music brings everyone together, and it can affect everyone in some way. Music has powerful effects on the brain, changes in mood, and expresses personality.
Music is not only important in entertainment, it is also momentous in people’s lives because it can have effects on their brains. Daniel Levitin, a prominent psychologist who studies the neuroscience of music at McGill University in Montreal, said in CNN Health: "We 're using music to better understand brain function in general" [1]. Some studies have shown music, especially symphonic music, works very well on people’s brains. It is increasing concentration level, it helps improve and recall memories. When people listen to music they know, a song they associate something or someone in their life with, can remind them of that person or thing and bring all the memories back. In addition, music can make people learning something easier by combining it with rhythm. When people try to remember a paragraph or poem by reciting it with rhythm instead of repeating, it will help them remember that lesson faster than keep reading. Not only that, music can use like a therapy to heal patients of high blood pressure, heart diseases and cancer because music helps in the secretion of endorphins that help in speeding the process of healing [2]. When someone lets the patients listen to the melodious and relaxing music, it is sure to make the patients feel more relaxed, so it would help the patients have positive effect on their health and get well soon.
