My Bedroom
Do you ever wonder why people are so attached to their bedroom and never want anyone going through their stuff? When I think of my bedroom, I realize why some people are so attached to their bedroom and their things in it it’s because those things are important to them and may have some meaning. Places like my bedroom are places where we can relax and be comfortable we express our emotions in our room and I think that is why it is so important to people because we can we ourselves , we can also just sit down and rest and think about what we have done today. Another important reason is we can go there when we want privacy therefore we can also just shut our door, maybe even lock it, and tell everyone in our house not to bother us. Also our rooms hold most of our personal belongings and those things are important to us and we do not want anyone else to touch them. Our bedrooms are very important because we spend most of our time there and we express our feelings there too.

Bedrooms are a place where we can be comfortable and we can sit back and relax. When we are tired or not feeling good we can just go to our room, shut our door, and lie down and relax. I always turn on my music on when I am tired it makes me feel relaxed. I have a really comfortable queen size bed with 5 pillows. The cover on the bed is black and cream with a beautiful print in black. A lot of times I just lie on my bed and listen to music and think about what I did today and plan out what I am going to do tomorrow. I always think negative when I am by myself in my room one thing we should not do is think about the things we need to get done or anything that makes us feel stressed because then we’ll never feel relaxed. The reason my bedroom is so important to me is because my room holds of all my personal belongings, which are very important to me. Everything that has memorable moments to it is in my room because that is one place where i know my things will be safe.

Sini had to die her hair to go so they wouldn’t know she was a Jewish. Annie had to cut her hair and dress like a boy to go. When they got to Usselo she met Dini Hannink, they went to her house together. They stayed there for about to two weeks. Then they had to go to the Oostervelds. They were really nice people. Johan was a farmer, Dientje, and Opoe (Johan’s mother). They were supposed to stay there for at least a week because Mr. Hannink thought a German followed him. Annie’s legs were getting crooked and couldn’t walk that much so she had to exercise. She really hated to do that. After a year and a half they haven’t even seen how the house looked. And Sini really wanted a tan. So Johan let them go out. He was going to pick them up around dinner. But then Dientje’s sister came and they couldn’t get in. Annie got real sick that day. A nice doctor came and helped them. The Germans came to inspect their house but Johan made a hiding place in the closet. The Germans caught one of their friends. The Garage is a television programme following the staff of English Mobile Mechanics in Marbella, Spain. The programme follows the activities of the garage and initially it followed new staff hires as they adjusted to life in Spain whilst coping with their new jobs and their boss, Jock Campbell. As work in southern Spain depends on tourists or villa owners that winter elsewhere the Garage 's trade is highly seasonal. Four out of the five new recruits found themselves with insufficient paid work (no customer jobs to book time to) so eventually announced that they were leaving and vacated their positions.…

    My Parent's Bedroom

In the short story “My Parent’s Bedroom” by Uwem Akpan, the country of Rwanda is having a civil war between the Hutus and Tutsis, the primary trying to eradicate the latter. The Hutus force Papa to kill Maman, which she convinces him that it was only solution. However, it wasn’t the best choice in his family’s situation. The Wizard and the Hutus arrive to ensure that Papa slays his Tutsi spouse, Maman. Papa murders her to please the crowd, “If you let any Tutsi live, you’re dead. And then they begin to leave, some patting him on the back,” (27). I find this to be the only major decision made in the story because it severs the whole family’s connection with one another, and especially leaves Monique traumatized. There were few consequences,…

    In The Kitchen

In the Kitchen In the story In the Kitchen, Henry Louis Gates Jr. makes the point that there are some things that you just cannot take away from people, such as character traits and people's ways of life. Those are things that you cannot get rid of no matter how much "hair grease" you put in your life. When Gates was a young boy, he would watch his mother do the people's hair in their kitchen and would marvel at how the black person's hair would always go back to the kings no matter how good it looked when it was done up, when it hit the water, it went right back to the kinks. The kitchen in Gates' mother's house was also a permanent, irredeemable kink. When a black person would straighten their hair, as soon as they washed it or even got water on their hair, it would go back to the natural kink that it originated at. Many people in life try to forget their background or where they came from and ignore their roots, but that is a part of you that you will always have with you and no matter how much you try and make it go away, your roots are a permanent thing and can never be erased. In the past 30 years, the superficialities of the world have become the predominant thing. Models are 15 pounds underweight and starve themselves to look like the "ideal" woman, whites try to be and look like blacks, blacks try to be and look like whites. There are so many ways in the world today that you can cover up your roots and who you are, but there is not one way that you can get rid of them. From plastic surgery, to skin lightening or darkening, to the clothes we wear or the way we talk. Nobody should ever be ashamed of who they are, that is what makes America beautiful as a country, because we have so much diversity between our citizens, and that we are able to come together and work as one nationality.…

Homework, music, and tranquility are three things that come to my mind whenever I think of my bedroom. It’s a special place that’s important to me and holds many memories, even though other people may not see it that way. This is a place where I spend most of my day to relax and forget about the problems of everyday life. My bedroom is like a sanctuary to me because it’s quiet and peaceful like a walk through misty woods in the early morning hours. It’s somewhere I look forward to going when the “ordinary day at school” is done.…

    Favorite Room

My Favorite room in my house is my bedroom. A four by four secluded chamber my room is one of four bedrooms located in the very far corner of my house. One must stroll through a long winding spiral hallway to reach the entrance of my room. He or she will automatically be greeted by a sleeping seven foot eggshell door. The door communicates via a cylindrical brass knob. To say hello one must turn the knob counter-clock wise. The door’s cooperation depends solely on his mood. If one annoys the door he will let out an unbearable screeching whimper of pain. Treat the door with respect, he will let you in with ease but beware of the mystery that lies ahead. The door opens and the faint hissing of electrical static that sounds like a bee hive strikes the ear. A hollow tubular glossy oyster colored hamper that resembles a gushing geyser overflowing with clothing, stands behind the door. To venture deeper in the room one must play hopscotch over mountains of wrinkled clothing smelling of mild due, and crawl through tangled cobwebs of computer wire. If one is successful and does not get stuck in the cobwebs. He or she will come to a halt at a golden mahogany arch that completes the edge of my bed, a flat oval shaped desk stands behind, and to the left of my bed one will see a rocky avalanche of clothing trying to escape my hollow closet.…

    In My Fathers Den

In my Fathers Den, a brilliant example of subjective filmmaking and credit should be given to the director Brad McGann for successfully developing a character who takes a journey through regression. McGann uses a series of flashbacks for Paul to revisit the traumatic past and then back to the obscure present to deal with the outcome of his memories. Brad McGann develops the character Paul, as a man who is lonely and isolated yet mystifying and secretive. He blocks out his emotions completely which makes the audience intrigued to find out what has happened in his past that has made him the enclosed character he is today. The story includes themes found familiar to many New Zealand films, dark family secrets, small-town claustrophobia, the lure of the outside world. "It's not so much a whodunit" said McGann, "but a whydunit". The film is as much about tone as plot, eloquently describing a world of emotionally damaged characters isolated from each other in stark landscapes. The theme of escapism is consistently grabbing the audiences attention throughout…
