My Butt Is Big Ad Analysis
“My butt is big”. This is a quote from what seems to look like an average size

celebrity woman with fitness clothes and running shoes on. The celebrity in this Nike

advertisement is reality television star Kim Kardashian who is making a statement about

how proud she is about her rear end and that she doesn’t need to be super skinny when

compared to other models. The background in this advertisement is an all white canvas

with Kim standing up with her hip and butt sticking out in one direction wearing her

booty shorts so that it can be seen in plain sight. Her hands are wrapped with white tape

as a boxer would do before putting on gloves. Kim also seems to however look down

away from the camera shot.

The rest of Kim Kardashian’s quote is stated in the article as follows, “And round

like the letter C and ten thousand lunges has made it rounder but not smaller and that’s

just fine. It’s a space heater for my side of the bed, it’s my ambassador to those who walk

behind me, it’s a border collie that herds skinny women away from the best deals at

clothing sales. My butt is big and that’s just fine and those who might scorn it are invited

to kiss it. Just do it”. This advertisement may also suggest female empowerment since it

The message that this advertisement is trying to convey is a stand up to the world

for women with plus sized butts. Kim Kardashian happens to be the poster child for this

large area of her body that she is either loved or under constant scrutiny for. Her

popularity with the media and public as a celebrity has made her an outstanding candidate

to get attention any where in the world with her assets. Pun intended. The main focus of

this advertisement is surprisingly not the Nike shoes that Kim is wearing for customers to

buy but her determination to get her point across which in turn can be indirect advertising
