I believe classroom management is the key component in an educational setting. As well as student’s full participation, overall commitment and contribution in classroom activities. A Classroom management plan should have consistency, organization, seating charts, procedures, opening activities, and over-planning. Also, teachers should focus on teaching students proper classroom behaviors, expectations, and consequences. Incorporating all the above will equal an effective teacher who will have a positive influence on student achievements.
The beliefs I have obtained about classroom management have developed over a period of classroom observations and also from my classroom management course at Turtle Mountain Community College. Transitions from subject to subject, observe to see if the transition procedures are working efficiently for each student. To ensure a positive transition the teacher must provide directions on how they want transitions done. Example: tell students they have 2 minutes to complete their final thoughts, before clearing off their desk and sit quietly with arms on their desk and eyes on the teacher, allowing the teacher to be aware that the students occur to be ready for the next step. Wait for all students to be in the appropriate sitting position, if some students need extra time offer them a warning of how much time remains from the 2 minutes given, when all students are in the appropriate sitting position (don’t move on until all students show readiness), tell them to remove the needed materials for the upcoming lesson allowing 2 minutes. For the students who aren’t following directions the teacher may make a positive praise, for example, I’m pleased with your motivation and preparedness for the upcoming lesson! Then, state that you will allow 1 more minute to wait for the students who may not be ready. Doing this may encourage others to move effectively and display
