MY FAMILY AND BESTIES
My family consists of only four members, my mom, my two brothers and me. It was bigger when my dad was alive. He died from a cardiac arrest when I was nearly four, not realizing how tragic and irrevocable the event of his death was for my mom and my siblings, I could not utter even a tear, I was not being merciless or cruel toward my father, for I loved him so much and tried to spend as much as time with him as I could. My mother became a single parent at 29 with three children. Time goes by, I have grown up into maturity and I was considered that my mother was a great women. I wondered how strong she is trough her lives. She supposed to act like father in order to earn money and become a mother with the intention of caring children and keep up home in well organized. She comes of a respectable Muslim family, she is polite, affectionate, and very religious. She bears good moral characters. She advises us to follow the path of truth and honesty. She also advises us to be polite, gentle, and modesty. I hold my mother in profound respect and greatly indebted to my mother. My elder brother is little bit dissimilar with me, because he is introvert however we sill have similarity, we find irresistible on international issues, when he was at home we’re always discuss regarding what’s going on in this world or problems that exist in Indonesia and try to find solution how to conquer with those. Sometimes we find comical and awkward solution to solve the topic that we discussed. My second brother was mischievous until she was arrested and jailed for three months , but after that accident my brother alter into a good boy and replace my mother to earn money. Trust me he is so much different at this time.

I believe that a friend is an angel who lifts us of our feet when our wings have a trouble remembering how to fly. It means that our friends are people who will always beside us anytime we need them. I am so lucky because I have three besties with the same

Amazing Grace, by Jonathan Kozol, is about the author’s interviews with, and thoughts about, some of the poorest people who live in the poorest sections of New York. The facts stated in Amazing Grace startled me with the prevalence and desperation of the poverty situation in areas like the South Bronx and Mott Haven. These are areas where there are hundreds of thousands of people living in broken, crowded, and rundown apartment buildings, “That,” says Kozol, “most people would not even kennel their dogs in.” (pg. 51) I have been to areas near my home that I thought were poverty stricken, but they pale in comparison to some of the situations that I read about in Amazing Grace. On the very first page I was surprised by the fact that, “In 1991, the median household income of the area, according to the New…
