1. Create a fantastic resume that is very different than any other college resume you've seen.

Every bullet point on your resume should follow this format:
Achieved ______ by doing ______.
You don't have to use those exact words but each bullet point should show what you did and how you did. If you want to go a step further, you should say the result of what you did (what was improved).
Another way to make your resume better is to list skills or techniques that are relevant in your industry. Don't list things such as Microsoft Word, leadership, public speaking . . . etc. Those are things that every student puts on their resume, but it doesn’t mean anything. Put specific skills and techniques that are actually used by companies today. You can even put technology you used before too. Also, your resume needs to be very easy to read. Don't make it wild with colors, don't use small fonts, and whitespace is your friend.
