half of the day. At eleven o’clock he left for Pierre. I made sure to check the horses, even though my dad to me he would. He explained that he had checked the horses before he left for Pierre, when he arrived back, he realized there is red all of my horse, Toeska’s, leg. So, he chased him in and realized that he is wire cut all around his left knee, it was swollen and blood was everywhere, he loaded him up in our trailer meet my mom and me at Dupree Cenex. At the same time my mom picked me up from school, which I was having a amazing day. When my mom took me to Cenex and exclaimed to me what happened, it completely ruined my day. I waited for the longest ten minutes of my life. When my dad arrived there, I peeked inside the trailer to check out Toeska, my heart sunk at that moment. I didn’t realize how horrible it was, until after I seen it, I wanted to travel to the vet as quickly as I could. Me and my dad took off for Rapid and those 2 and a half hour’s seemed to be the longest ride of my life, I just felt down and depressed.
When we arrived at the vet, they took him in right away. They stuck needles in his knee where the cut was. They gave him pain medicine, so they could shoot water into the joints to assure he didn’t tear his tendons. It took the vet an hour. When the vet, finally finished, he exclaimed, that he would be okay, it will just take time to heal the wound. I was so relieved! He was alright, I could still ride him after he healed! That is the day my horse got cut. It turned out to be okay, which I am so thankful for. So, after the grief and misery I was so greatful. I took care of him for 3 months, and now he is back to wonderful health. He still has a scar from where the cut was, nevertheless, I am still riding him to this day.
