That is amazing! I can honestly say a fish tank was not of high worry for me when it comes to things being hacked. I, like most people, think of my cellphone, tablet, and computer, of being hacked compared to my appliances (which non of them are smart so I am hopefully safe there). It's amazing how someone in another state or even country can access almost everything I own. A gentleman named Thomas Hatley, was awoken one morning by someone stating, "I can see all of the devices in your home and I think I can control them” (Hill, 2013). This stranger proceeded to prove to Thomas what she could do by turning his lights on and off. This man seemed astounded by the possibilities. It's amazing to me that some individuals still don't understand the…

During my younger years, I developed a large interest in horses or more particularly the sport of ranch sorting. Around the age of seven I got my very first sorting horse, whose name was Skipper. Skipper was colored like the planet Mars. He was not the best horse for this sport, but he helped develop my skills. I started competing at the Vassar Arena every…

Horse showing is not an easy task. It is hours upon hours of going in circles and patterns around the arena. You have to know all the right patters and ques as well as having everything spot on and perfect. It is perfect chaos. I smiled to myself at how perfect this show was going. I’ve only been showing for 2 years and so far I’ve gotten $10, 1 ribbon, and a good job from my trainer. If you were me, you would understand how exciting it was. My trainer, Dominique, is also the real owner of my horse and my same age best friend. I had never won anything at a horse show before. More than anything I got mad because I could never get Drifter to listen or did something wrong. So, yeah, It was a pretty special night. However, sitting here…

Life can be challenging sometimes. For example, I find it hard to read. When I pick up a book I lose the experience of the story, because I am trying to figure out how to sound out the words on the pages. Some people enjoy stories so much that they have a hard time putting the book down; I have never experienced that. I wish reading came easier to me. On the other hand, life can be joyful. There are three things that I am always grateful for, my horse Armi, food and my family.…

Once upon a time I was blessed with a beautiful rare red horse. The reason I got it was because it was my 16th birthday. The horse was so special because not only was it red, but it also talked. I named him Billy, because he said ‘’ I want my name to be Billy’’. I always took Billy out for walks and sometimes he took me for walks. What made Billy even more special was that he could fly. One time when I was walking with Billy, another kid from down the street was walking his horse. The kid with the horse told Billy and I that we are stupid, so Billy started to cry. I felt bad because I didn’t know what to do, so under pressure I did what any kid who is getting bullied would do. I told Billy to fly away, and we ended up in a magical place named Chicago. We crashed at a motel downtown.…

It all started when I saw a horse race on the TV. I was lying on the ground with my dogs. My mom was cooking steak and potatoes for dinner and my dad was sleeping in his bed. My sisters were playing on their phone and tablet. The horses were wearing colorful gear and the riders were matching with the colored helmets and riding outfits. There was a Palomino in yellow, a Bay in green and a Bay in blue, a Paint in orange, and a Black in grey. I could see the jockeys petting and reassuring the beautiful giants. When the gates opened and the horses took off I watched so intensely it were if I was about to pass out. When the horses took off I could hear their breathing slowly getting faster and harder and the crowds cheering louder and louder. I could hear their hooves thumping and the breeze of the wind whisking pass them as they flew over the jumps. I could hear them as they brushed the tops of the bushes as they leaped and splashes in the water as they landed. They were moving so fast they were no more than a blur in a tornado. When the horses finally slowed down and came to a…

A horse has four speeds: walking, trotting, loping, and running. Anyone who has ever ridden a horse has felt the gentle side-to-side sway of a walking horse. Its soothing constant motion is an addiction no one can truly overcome. Trotting, however, is a very different story. The quick, choppy movements of a horse at this speed send you on a short ride up followed by a hard smack when you regain contact with the saddle. Though beginners often dislike trotting, easy tricks can be learned to make it a more enjoyable ride. If the first two speeds are too slow, the loping might be a step in the right direction. The smooth circular motion of loping makes you feel like a kite blowing in the wind: light and free. Finally, there is running; who can truly describe it?…

Horse riding is considered easy by many people, but being an equestrian is a lot harder than many can comprehend. We, as riders, are trusting and communicating with an animal that is more than twice our size and does not speak our language. The reason we decide to do this sport is simply because we love it. Horses have a played a major part in my life and they have shaped me to be the person I am today.…
