Fictional Character Review Paper- My Left Foot
My Left Foot is an autobiography written by Christy Brown who was born in 1932, a victim of cerebral palsy, he could not control his speech or his movement, apart from his left foot. Throughout the book we discover the difficulties and achievements through his younger and teenage life. Within my essay I intend to explore who helped Christy achieve success in his life? The key people who support and help him throughout the book are his siblings /Jenny /Doctors, his mother and Christy himself.
At the start of the book we learn that Christy’s siblings have a significant part to play in Christy’s success in life due, to their love and protection towards him. Christy was one of 23 children, he had many brothers and sisters who helped him with his illness all of his life. So Christy soon made many friends who accepted him without any questions. Christy’s brothers also used to take him adventures to take his mind from his illness; the most memorable outing that Christy mentions in the book, is when his brother’s Tony and Peter took him into the countryside beyond Dublin, where Christy for the first time went swimming in the canal. “I lay there panting but triumphant” Christy’s brothers gave him an exciting and happy childhood, as they treated him like one of them, and by doing so had contributed into Christy being so successful in his later adult life.
Another person who also had a part to play in Christy’s
