1. The primary and secondary coil of a transformer have 50 and 1500 turns respectively. If the magnetic flux φ linked with the primary coil is given by φ = φ0 + 4t, where φ is in webers, t is time in seconds and φ0 is a constant, the output voltage across the secondary coil is (a) 120 volts (b) 220 volts (c) 30 volts (d) 90 volts A beam of electron passes undeflected through mutually perpendicular electric and magnetic fields. If the electric field is switched off, and the same magnetic field is maintained, the electrons move (a) in a circular orbit (b) along a parabolic path (c) along a straight line (d) in an elliptical orbit. The position x of a particle with respect to time t along x-axis is given by x = 9t2 – t3 where x is in metres and t in second. What will be the position of this particle when it achieves maximum speed along the +ve x direction? (a) 54 m (b) 81 m (c) 24 m (d) 32 m. A particle starting from the origin (0, 0) moves in a straight line in the (x, y) plane. Its coordinates at a later time are ( 3,3) . The path of the particle makes with the x-axis an angle of (a) 45o (b) 60o (c) 0o (d) 30o A car moves from X to Y with a uniform speed vu and returns to Y with a uniform speed vd. The wingspan (tip – to – tip) of a Boeing 747 jetliner is 59 m. The plane is flying horizontally at a speed of 220 ms-1. The vertical component of the Earth’s magnetic field is 5.0 × 10-6 T. Find the emf induced between the wing’s tips. [6.49 × 10-2 V] Near San Francisco, where the vertically downward component of the earth’s magnetic field is 4.8 × 10-5 T, a car is travelling forward at 25 ms-1. An emf of 2.4 × 10-3 V is induced between the sides of the car. a. Which side of the car is positive, driver’s side or the passenger’s side? [driver’s (American’s drive on the left hand side)] b. What is the width of the car? [2 m] A metal rod (length = 0.75 m) moves perpendicular to a magnetic field of 0.15 T. An emf of 0.24 V exists between the ends of the rod. How far does the rod move in 7.0 s? [14.9 m] The axle of a railway carriage is 1.5 m long and is moving with a velocity of 20 ms-1 north on a level track. The vertically upward component of the Earth’s magnetic flux density is 50 µT. a. Calculate (in mV) the emf induced between the ends of the axle. [15. mV] b. Does the east of the west end of the axle gain an excess of electrons? [west] When in the swept back position, the wings of the RAF F111C fighter – bomber have a span of 21 m. With the wings in this position while flying horizontally due magnetic north in a region where the Earth’s magnetic flux density id 50 µT and the angle of dip is – 60°, the F111C develops a potential difference of 0.77 V between its wing tips. At what speed is the plane flying? [847 ms-1]…

All But My Life is a memoir about a young Jewish girl, Gerda Weissmann, who was able to endure the hardships of World War II and the Holocaust. Gerda went through and saw more horrific things in the matter of a few years than any of us will ever have to face in our lifetimes. The fact that a girl this young and hopeless can withstand so much pain but yet contain so much strength should be an inspiration to all. Reading this book really opened my eyes to what the world can bring. After reading Gerda’s journey, I will never again complain of times being tough or depressing in my life. This book really meant a lot to me for that very reason. It is amazing that no matter what Gerda had to face in those years she would constantly be looking forward. Regardless of the circumstances she pushed forward and longed for the time that it would all be over.…

So he called up his top elf CROSSY (across from you the circle).Let me tell you the story of how CROSSY(across from you the circle) saved ONE(2times to the right) Christmas long ago. First of all, CROSSY(across from you the circle) was not a CROSS(across from you the circle) elf at all. Actually he was a rather happy elf. That's why he was in charge of all the elf's. Santa told CROSSY(across from you the circle) he needed to deliver the gifts this year and he should take LEFTY the elf with him. Being the good elf that CROSSY(across from you the circle) is, he took LEFTY and got busy packing the sleigh RIGHT away. RIGHT before it was time to leave on Christmas Eve, CROSSY(across from you the circle) and LEFTY went to Santa to get last minute directions. Santa told them you start RIGHT off by delivering in the first time zone that's at…
