My Life on Paper
My Life on Paper 

Everyone has their own perspective on what they consider a “perfect life.”
My life was no where near perfect, it was perfectly imperfect and I was completely happy with that. Life isn’t about money, cars or clothes. Yes it’s important but like Notorious B.I.G said “more money, more problems.” I believe happiness is a destination and all that is just luggage.

My name is Iliana and I was given that name the day I was born, July 5tth, 1989.
I was born in Miami and raised by my mom; her and my dad got married young which sadly led to divorce. My mom was a single parent raising 3 kids on her own. Although it sounds as if my dad wasn’t around, it was the complete opposite I saw my dad every other weekend and ate dinner on Wednesday. Soon after the divorce my dad met my step mom, in which I might add all “evil step moms” make mine look bad.

A few years later my sisters were born, although this sounds like too much for a 7 year old too handle, I thought other wise. Since my parents got divorced when I was a year and a half, I don’t even know what it is to live with my dad. Till this day I think I’m the luckiest girl in the world! I have two mothers, not only do I have two moms they’re the best moms a girl can ask for.

I can honestly say I had the most amazing childhood a kid can ask for.
My mom would dress up and put crazy make up on and dance around the house just to make us laugh. The funny part is it’ll all start if food got in her teeth she would smile and say something funny then she’d attach Styrofoam cups to her ear with aluminum foil coming out, put music on and dance around the house, Every time she passed by she’d have one more article of clothing or material on. My brothers and I were never in child care, and oh god! How I begged! On the weekends my mom would take us to the movies, the park, basically anywhere we wanted, of course we couldn’t forget our friends.
She’s one of very little parents that were with about 6

Hearing this story made me think about some of the crazy things I did as a child and if my parents ever had any part in encouraging me to do them. I can’t recall doing anything as wild as sitting on the roof rack while my mom was driving, and I don’t think she would have ever gone that far. What was the craziest thing your parents made you do while growing…

Until I was three years old, I was having fun as a toddler by myself. Although, a month before my fourth birthday, I received a beautiful baby sister named Kinsley Ann Kemper. Little did I know that within about nine years she was going to become an ornery child. When she was little, my parents had to set rules for me to follow because they knew that I could follow the rules that they gave me, while they were taking care of Kinsley. Also, when I was three, I started to go to dance. My first year of dance, I got an award for the dancer of the year, which made me very overjoyed and excited at the same time. I can still remember…

It all started when my mother moved my family to Atlanta, Georgia with her new husband. In a way, this forced me to become closer to my stepdad, but in the end, I felt resentment toward my stepdad because he believes he can replace my father. Moving to Georgia, also meant moving away from my father, and being closer to my mother’s side of the family. It has had a negative impact on me because it also pushed me away from my father’s side of the family, and I haven’t gotten to know them as well as I know my mother’s side of the family. In a way, it was my mother’s fault for taking me away from my father, because she moved me at such a young age.…

When I was younger, I typically received the things I wanted, things such as toys – being that I was an only child – and never worried about hearing the answer, “No”. I had this insane idea that the world revolved around me. Although I still had the concept in my head, that it was all about me when I was informed I would be an older sister, I knew that nothing would be the same. Before I was a sister, I never took anyone else into consideration, and I was never told to do otherwise. I was around four years old, when this news has changed my life forever.…

My parents divorced when I was four. I can recall the separation well. My mom had to start over with my younger brother and me at her side, a single mother with two very young children. She has always strived to do the best thing by us. Even if that meant she had to sacrifice some royalties herself. One example being that she has always wanted to move away. She has no real reason to stay in this area other than my brother and me. She stays so that we don’t…

Perfect: an individual having quality, or characteristics that are good as it possibly can; “a state of flawlessness without any defects” (Schwartz). The word perfect was derived in 1250-1300 in Middle English, Latin, and Old French, all across the same meaning was that perfect means to “bring to completion” (dictionary.com). Perfect is a simple word, yet everyone strives for it and many fail. Individuals may be in denial, thinking they do not want to be perfect, but looking at the media and society can pressure many to be perfect.
