My Mentor
My mentor is my mother for several reasons. She is always very kind to everyone she meets, I can come to her if I have a problem and she has many life experiences I can learn from. Day after day she works hard to provide for our family, making sure everyone is happy and taken care of. She listens when I talk to her and helps me get through rough times. She is a very strong cancer survivor and she loves me just as much as I love her.
My mother is my greatest mentor because of her personality and good nature. She works as a school psychologist and helps kids who need it most. A valuable mentor displays numerous characteristics such as being a leader, helpful to all and approachable. My mother presents all of these aspects. Along with attributing
stellar character, she is an overall astonishing mom and friend. She teaches lessons fairly and makes sure we learn from our mistakes without harsh punishment.
A mentor should affect your life in a positive way on a daily basis. My mentor always makes an effort to make me feel safe and loved. Even if she is half asleep when I get home, I am asked how my day was and she loves to hear every little boring detail. I have never felt left out being the middle child nor will I ever because I know my mother will always be there for me. If I have a problem whether it is with school, friends or whatever else she is always there to talk to. She will listen and give helpful advice without me even asking. When she sees I am stressed she tries to help me clear up my schedule with a calm attitude. My mother is and always will be my mentor because of how much she has helped me in just 14 years.
