My most embarrassing and frightening experience!
Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would do anything to get it? Whether it was that special someone you have had your eyes on for a while or that new sixty inch plasma TV you saw in the electronics store. Often people go through drastic measures to get these things. They lie. They steal. They even go so far as murder. I know because I was once like those people. I wanted something so badly that I chose to do the only thing I thought I could do to get it. I stole it. It was the most frightening and embarrassing experience I have ever had. It was late afternoon, around six o'clock, when my parents and I left for the grocery store. I was use to this because lately it had become a weekly routine. The week before, I saw something in the grocery store that had really caught my eye. It was an aisle filled with candies. Lollipops, Skittles, Hershey Kisses, and Bubble Gum, you name it, they had it. It was everything a child could ever ask for. From that day on, I knew I had to have them.

Next week flew by so quickly and I found myself in the aisle again looking at the never ending piles of candy. I left mommy and daddy in the meat section and I headed for the mountain of sweets. The meat section was so boring. Who wouldn't pick an aisle filled with candies over raw dead meat? Inside the grocery store, music played softly as people pushed metal carts around the store constantly picking groceries off the shelves. It was like I was surrounded by a bunch of programmed robots. I felt different from everyone else. I felt I had something to do tonight. This week I brought a bag along with me because something inside of me told me that I would be need to use it. As I stood there staring, contemplating, wondering what I should do, two voices inside of me were arguing. One voice was telling me to take the candy and the other was telling me not to. Unfortunately, one of the voices had to win so I opened up my bag and started stuffing mounds of candy into it until it

When I was younger, I always wanted a Barbie dollhouse. The Barbie dollhouse was expensive and at least worth a hundred dollars. For my birthday, my parents decided to give me that very Barbie dollhouse. Of course, I was happy but I was only happy for a quick minute and before I knew it, I didn’t know what item I wanted next. This is a situation that many people this day in age face, where they receive something and they don’t know what to do. But, these possessions also have a negative impact on people.…

I woke up in the hospital, the room was stuffy and the air had a undertone of bleach. Beautiful framed pieces of art hang the wall. There were vases of flowers in the room. I look around, every surface was dustless. The nurses were unhurried, they moved with a serene peacefulness from room to room on their rounds. Above the double doors were large blue plastic signs with the area of the hospital that lie ahead. I got this overwhelming feeling of wanting to cry. Brick by brick my walls were tumbling down. The feeling punched through my empty stomach ripping through my bones, guts, and muscles. I knew Ms. Anna would be upset.…

As I sit outside my porch gleaming at the clear blue sky, the sun peeking through the clouds down on my face. I take a long breath, taking in the morning breeze and letting it out. Today will be different, it will be a new beginning. I hear the birds chirping and the sun has risen. It's time. I run back inside my house grab the keys and head straight to the front door. I take a deep breath again telling the voices in my head that today will be different. I stroll down the road as I rehash what this day was one year ago. A deadly disaster, a heart throbbing story that I never want to be reminded of. I ambled past a group of people down the street, I hear their words turning into whispers and their ferocious eyes looking at me. The whispers are…

When I was younger, I was terrified of strangers. I would not talk to anyone who wasn’t family or a close family friend. When extended family came into town, I was very apprehensive. I was very shy and I relied a lot on hiding in my mother’s arms. I wouldn’t even talk to my preschool teachers for a long time, I just cried instead. I refused to talk to anyone at the grocery store or at my sibling’s schools. I do not have any idea as to why I was so timid, it is not like I had a scary traumatizing experience. I was just quiet, but that has definitely changed throughout the years. Now I can strike up a conversation with anyone, and I’m usually the one who won't stop talking. According to my mom, I didn’t really start talking to people until I…

It was a bright and sunny day, and the last bell of the day just went off in St. Mark’s Academy. The rumbling of kids and the slamming of lockers was all you heard as the first day of school was over. You could see class syllabi being trampled on as everyone stormed out of the school and into their parent’s cars or buses. I lived a few blocks down from the school so I was expected to walk each and every day, but it wasn’t a lonely road as I had my friend Josh that just lived a street over from me. Josh and I have been best friends since 3rd grade and you could barely separate us from each other. We loved to play video games and we would talk about them just about every time were together. In the mites of our conversation of who could beat who in halo, Josh stopped and starred at the old abandoned house on Maple St. I turned and said to him and said “what’s up?” he looked and me then back at the house and said i dare you to walk around that house. I looked at him and laughed and said there was no way I would enter that house. The house gave off a foggy feel that made the hair stand up on your back; it had two broken windows, and a front door that would slam continuously as the wind blew. He then…

But on this particular night, a humid night at that, there was absolutely no sound to be heard. Not even the squeal of a tyre edging around the street corner, or the cackle of an old man passing by. Feeling the aching in my wrists turn to a sharp pain, I peered down at the several plastic bags that I was holding; full of the essential shopping that I had gone out to get last minute for dinner. One of the bags (the one that was hurting my wrists) was clearly overfilled, but I couldn’t do anything about that, not now, in the middle of the street. Letting out a heavy sigh, I carried on walking, reaching carelessly into my pocket to clasp my phone. In the humidity, it felt lovely to have the cold, metal block against my hands. I pulled it out, feeling around in the darkness around me for the switch to turn it on with. I paused, under a spot in which the moonlight was beaming down upon on the road. Underneath the only source of light in the pitch black city, I checked my phone for any messages or calls that we important. There was nothing, apart from one message from my sister telling me to buy her some magazines. I hadn’t and since I had already come out of the shop and had begun my walk home, I wasn’t going to go back just for her sake. Feeling even hungrier as the time sped past, I decided that it would probably just be better to go home so that I could eat as quickly as possible. My stomach however, had other ideas. The loud rumble that came from deep inside it, suggested that I should eat preferably sooner rather than later. Ignoring it, I crouched down and scooped up my plastic shopping…

I had never been out of the nest. Mother had always warned us that it was dangerous in the outside world. But my curiosity grew and I thought to myself, " Since I am already out of the nest and it wasn't my fault that I got pushed out of the nest, I might as well have a look around before I go back ". I took a few brave steps away from my nest...then a few more...and before long, my home was out of sight and I found myself in the real world. I caught the fresh sense of the grass under my little feet. They felt soft and cozy, like a field of soft fur being planted onto the ground. As I walked a few steps more, I inhaled the sweet sense of flowers blooming in the garden. I had never smelled anything like it. My stomach started to growl and I knew I was hungry. I crawled down the road in search of food. There I found something that looked like an acorn. As I bit into it, it was hard and would not break. When I looked at it again, I realized I was biting into a brown rock. I threw the rock away and continued my journey, where I was determined to find food. A strong wind came blowing down the street, as I dig my claw into the earth to hold on to the ground. The earth was soft from last night's rain and a bit muddy too. I looked up at a tree that looked like a giant to me. I am not used to staring at a tree from its feet, since I'm always on top of it. A leaf floated down from the tree and landed on top of me. The leaf was huge compare to my small baby body. As I looked back down the road, I saw a large hole on the edge of the street. It looked like a tunnel, leading to a…

My brother and I continued to sprint through the dark, damp streets. Puddles splashed under our feet making eerie echoes. We passed closed shops and empty parking lots. It seemed like I wouldn’t even have nightmares as creepy as what I was walking through. It was darker than usual. A unearthly feeling was in the air. No one was around, which was normal because it was almost midnight, but it felt different. “Maybe I’m just in a bad mood,” I whispered to myself. School had proved to be a tragedy yet again. I just couldn’t get my mind off Ella. I didn’t even like going near the woods ever since… “Come on, we’re going to be late!” my brother interrupted. I had no idea those would be the last words my brother ever said.…
