APPROACHES TO MEASURING PERFORMANCE
Introduction:
An important part of effective management is establishing how we can evaluate performance.
In this topic we will identify the four approaches to performance management, the specific techniques used in each approach and the way these approaches compare with the criteria for effective management system. Note that all of these approaches have strengths and weaknesses. As a result many of the organizations’ performance evaluation use a combination of approaches.
To effective contribute to organizational business strategy and goals, effective performance evaluation should be measure both what gets accomplished (objectives) and how it gets accomplished (behavior). The results (Project Development) are linked to the goals of the organization.
