My Trip to Australia
Australia Tour Report

We started our journey on 15th of March at around 6:00 AM from our school in Dubai to Abu Dhabi International Airport. Our travel to Sydney was arranged by BCD travels through Etihad Airways. The Flight was for about 14 hours and was generally fine but a bit uncomfortable. We landed in Sydney Airport on 16th of March at 8:00 AM.

On day 1, we experienced the Bicycle Safari around Olympic Circuit. After the safari, we visited the ANZ Stadium and had a tour around it. The following day was a long journey to Canberra, the capital of Australia. In Canberra, we visited the old and new Parliament and then visited the National Museum. Then we returned to Sydney for dinner and back to the hotel. In the 3rd day of the trip, we had a beautiful harbor cruise to visit the world famous Opera House and the Harbor Bridge. Then we experienced the view from the top of the Sydney Tower where we also experienced a 4D cinema based on the Sydney Tower. But unfortunately the weather became bad and it started to rain so we left without seeing Opera House. Next, we visited the Sydney Aquarium, the largest in Australia. After Lunch, We had a walk along the sands of Bondi Beach.
The next day, we departed from Sydney to Melbourne where we visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The ground is huge! We also visited the National Sports Museum in MCG. After lunch, we headed back to the hotel to take some rest. In the Evening, We took the Tram to reach the restaurant for dinner. The 5th day was my favorite day because we took long drive to view the 12 Apostles through the famous Great Ocean Road. The sunset view of the 12 apostles was magnificent. We headed back to our hotel in Melbourne to have a good sleep and get ready for the next day in Cairns.

In Cairns, Tjapukai was the main tourist attraction. We spent the whole day in the tribal forest of Tjapukai where we joined the Skyrail, the world’s most beautiful rainforest experience. The following day, we

After Big Sur and spending the night in Pacifica we went further north to San Francisco. When we spent the night in Pacifica our hotel was right near the ocean. It was such a beautiful view to wake up to. I just absolutely love the sound of the ocean. In San Francisco we went over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a pretty cool thing to see with the views of San Francisco and the ocean. We then went to the park across from the Painted Ladies. The Painted Ladies are the houses that appear in the background of the opening of the original Full House series. It was an awesome thing to go see as I grew up watching Full House and will still watch it from time to time. Once we were done at the park we went to the San Francisco Giants stadium. Although…

Different Australian visions are often portrayed in various texts and motion pictures. Australian film Strictly Ballroom 1992 is a great example as the director uses very over-the-top and theatrical style of filmmaking to present a humorous story that reflects various ideals in Australian society with cinematography and film techniques. The movie not only showcases the persona of the underdog especially through the character of Fran, but also illustrates the concept of multiculturalism and the idea of achieving dreams on the land of Australia, which are all concepts that relates to different aspect of Australian visions. On the other hand the poem ‘My country’ written by Dorothea McKellar, expresses other ideals of Australia that are more directly related with the land. Through the use of poetic techniques such as metaphor the poet was able to depict both the natural danger and beauty of the nation that are also valued as important part of Australian visions.…

    The Australian Invasion

The European invasion of Australia in 1780 impacted upon the lives of all the Aboriginal people that lived in and around the invaded areas. When Captain Cook landed in Australia, he declared it as Terra Nullius, and this alone gives a significant insight as to the mentality of the British and their willingness to acknowledge the Aboriginal people and the importance that the land played in their daily lives. As the invaders brought with them their laws, ideals, diseases, livestock and people, the need for land increased and settlers began to venture outwards from the main settlements, the frontier broadened and the Aboriginal population began to shrink. The encroachment upon the land meant that many Aboriginal people were now being forced to come into closer contact with the Europeans. In doing this, the frontier affected the Aboriginal people in ways that ensured that their lives would never be the same and that European ideals affected their lives not only on the frontier but for generations too follow. The invasion of the Australian frontier affected areas in Aboriginal lives such as dispossession, disease, large-scale violence, which led to resistance.…
