The inside of the house contains what she is familiar with, such as her family, belongings, and memories. However, on the outside are freedom and experience, but also scary people like Arnold Friend. As the story progresses,…
The house that the narrator thinks is the “house” is more like an asylum where she is having a treatment for her illness. Hallucination is common among the patient of nervous breakdown and a depression. They fantasize things and live in their own world. In the process, they do not realize the reality of what they are going through. Therefore, the provided description of the house is nothing more than a…
My Aunt Caprice owned a large house and a couple acres of land which my brother and I would roam anytime we visited. Every Christmas Eve my mother would drive us over to Aunt Caprice’s house to visit her family and other close family friends. My Uncle Roger would take me around the property and let me collect chicken eggs for him. This taught me the value of hard work and was a humbling experience for me in my youth. My cousins, Bryan and Brent were very close to my brother and I, we would often hang out in the backyard either jumping on the trampoline or playing video games with each other. Some of my favorite memories were spent at that house, especially on Christmas to see family or just to go over and watch Dallas Cowboys games with…
There once was a time that I went to cabo San Lucas Mexico with my family. The reason that this trip was so special too was because I got to spend a whole week with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and most importantly my parents. When we first got we went to are rooms and put are thing down then went right down to the pool. I can still remember the way the pool look and felt because I got cut on one of the tiles in the pool. One there reasons I liked the pool so much is you could just sit there and watch the sun set. Then the next day I went fishing on the beach that was so cool casting out a fishing line and sitting there waiting with family there beaches are so beautiful and nice like the ones you see in TV commercials. I haven’t even got to the best part they have a little cruise called sunset cruise. You rode on a pirate ship and watch people fight and watch the sun go down. I was a lot like the movie call peter pan. This little cruise was so special because in a hurry and I got locked out of my room I forgot to wear shoes so I was without shoes that whole night. There is one restraints that you have to go to when you are there I mean they have unreal food. They have huge tacos filled with anything you want with beans, rice and a side salad. I can taste it now. I also remember the time I went with my grandparents to the beach after the sun went down with one of my uncles. You have experienced nothing until that happened I mean the sand nice and cold between your toes swimming in the ocean you feel so free and wild. That is why cabo San Lucas Mexico is so special to me. I have a lot of good memories there with my…
It was finally starting to get dark, so we decided to go back to the house. On our fourth day, we were going to go to Virginia Beach. It’s about two hours from my aunt’s house so we left kind of early to get there around eleven o’clock. While we were there my grandparents went to one of those side shops, the ones that sell clothes and other items. Anyway, they went and bought a ton of different souvenirs. Everyone looked at my grandparents and laughed. They looked…
It is the one place where I know I can relax. It has that small cottage feel to it. There are not only huge oak trees and rose bushes surrounding it, but she also has a small garden waterfall, which complements it nicely. The moment I walked inside the house, a feeling of calmness came over me. The worries of going to work and paying bills that would not ever be paid off vanished from my mind. This place is my absolute haven away from the rat race of the inner city and when I tire of crowds of people around me. This is one place where southerners with true southern hospitality…
It’s the table, where you sat with your parents, cracking algebraic code and discussing theology. It’s the pillow that soaked-up tears from broken friendships and silenced 3AM laughter. It’s the metal griddle, where you learned about your great grandparents while making traditional Norwegian food. A house is more than just a building, but a place filled with memories, a place that…
It was also the last place I saw my Grandmother Mary alive for the last time. We did not find out about the death until 5 months after, so this special place holds my last memories of her. Even after the death, my mother, sister and I continued the family tradition of going up and renting a cottage that the family has been staying in for years.…
There is a narrow window a the left. Through its leaded panes the morning sunlight streams> A candle still burns near the bed, which is at the right. A chest, a chair, and a small table are the other furnishings. At the back a cdoor opens on the landing of the stairway to the ground floor. The room gives off an air of clean sparseness. The roof rafters are exposed, and the wood colors are raw and unmellowed.…
Before family comes we help my grandparents to adorn the house. We have fun, but when it's blustery outside we wait for the wind to clear and then get ready. It's like 2nd christmas to us. We usually have 4 turkeys and if we have spare we eat them in christmas. Someone gets contagious every holiday in our family. When it's over…

I loved sitting by the lake when I was a little girl. Grandma would pack us a lunch, and we would sit at the lake for hours on end. Hour after hour, grandma would tell me stories about her life on the mountain.…
The beautiful location left indelible marks in our minds. The amusing time that we passed there is unforgettable. I never try again a meal with the delicious taste of my grandfather's meal. For all of that, my grandparents' house was in my memory as the most favorite place that I visited during my…
Have you ever influenced by some important people that helped you be the person that you are today? I have. The people that have had influence on me are the most important people, my family. But before I begin talking about my family, I want to show to you the place that me and my family spend most of the time together which also means something important to me and my family. This place is called the family room. This room is small but beautiful. It is painted in white and has three windows decorated with beautiful curtains. By the windows you can see a nice view of some beautiful trees and a nice park across street. On the walls there are family photos like the ones that show where my brother and I were born. The other one is my graduation photo. Some family member photos like my grandparents, and some paintings made by my brother. So this is our room, which is very important to us and has a lot of special things, but the most special part of this room is when it brings my family together.…
