NFL Uniforms
The National Football League has been around since September 26, 1920. The NFL has had many changes along the way. Can you believe that the NFL started out with only 14 teams? The NFL has evolved so much from starting in Canton Ohio to now in 32 cities with 24 states having NFL teams. Not only have the teams and cities changed the football, the jerseys, and the helmets have changed dramatically. The NFL started in Canton, Ohio. This is where the hall of fame is for football. The hall of fame might be the only thing that professional football has to give Ohio since Ohio is where the Cleveland Browns play. The Browns are the worst team in the NFL right now with an 0-10 record. The first team was the Canton Bulldogs, who as you may have guessed …show more content…
The uniforms are what people will see you in every Sunday, Monday, or Thursday. Most of the NFL teams have been through major uniform changes. There are some that have mostly been the same for a long time. An example of this is the Steelers. Their uniforms have been the same for many years and counting. Another example of this is the Indianapolis Colts. Although they have changed cities, their uniforms have stayed the same for many years. A team like the Denver Broncos has had many uniform changes. They started out brown and yellow which is hard to …show more content…
One of the controversies is that the NFL does not take care of its players after they are done playing in the league. This was illustrated in the Will Smith movie, Concussion. Another example of this is a young linebacker who played for the 49ers who retired early after his first season because he just did not feel safe in the NFL. There have been cheaters proven in the NFL as well. We all know about the Patriots “Deflate Gate” against the Colts in the AFC divisional round. Did you know that the Patriots were also in another cheating scandal? This one is called the Spy Gate. That is why the Patriots are one of the most hated team in the NFL. My favorite team in the NFL is the Denver Broncos. The Broncos were founded in 1960 by the Howsman family. The Broncos play at Sports Authority Field, which is a mile high in the air. The Broncos have been an AFC powerhouse for the last 3 to 4 years. In those three to four year they went to two superbowls and won one of them. Some say that the Broncos had the best defense ever in the NFL during the 2015-2016 season. The Broncos first uniforms were ugly brown and yellow colors, so ugly that some of the players refused to play in them. The owner got these uniforms from a thrift shop in

In the United States, about half of Americans would agree that football is their favorite sport. The NFL is the most popular sports league in the Unites States, have the highest TV ratings to date, and revenues reaching the billions. And then there was deflategate, an incident that took place at the AFC Championship game. The Patriots’ footballs were inflated under the required PSI level. However, the game was played is extremely cold weather, so the cold could have deflated the balls just as it does to tires on a car. There is still question whether or not the opposing team, the Colts’, balls were also inflated. People believed that a Patriots’ ball boy deliberately deflated the balls on quarterback Tom Brady’s orders. Even if the balls were slightly underinflated, they did not have too big of an impact. Running back LeGarrette Blount ran for 148 yards and three touchdowns. An underinflated football would not have a big difference in the running game. A private investigation was done by Ted Wells and he found that it was “more probable than not” that Tom Brady was involved in deflating the balls. Goodell then suspended Brady for four games and punished the…

The Minnesota Vikings may not have gone to the Super Bowl before, but that doesn’t mean they are one of the worst teams in the NFL football league. In fact, each season they are improving to greater their chance in the Super Bowl. The Minnesota Vikings had a strong streak this past year by closing out at week five as the only undefeated team left in the NFL. Even fewer people would have predicated this after the quarter back Teddy Bridgewater went down with a devastating knee injury. Regardless, of their scoring drive, the Minnesota Vikings are an outstanding team because of the head coach Mike Zimmer, offensive coordinator Norv Turner, and great receiving depth.…

Sports are an intimate part of many people’s lives. Without it, many of us would not share certain relationships or bonds with people who like it as much as we do. Football is indeed my favorite sport to watch. From the touchdown dances to seeing a favorite player break a record, football is intense, exciting, and amusing to watch. Football teams can define the character of certain regions and places (Sports and Recreation, 2004). In good old Minnesota, we “bleed purple” and love our Minnesota Vikings. Although the Vikings have never won the Super Bowl, we still love them regardless because of their hard work and dedication to the sport and to the fans. The whole organization behaves in a manner that keeps the fans coming back for more, as do other National Football League teams around the United States. The National Football League and its teams need to have spot-on organizational skills. If there is not proper organizational…

Meanwhile, both of these activities have some sort of equipment whether it is just for show or protection. The equipment they use is what separates these activities The marching band uniforms consist of marching shoes, bibbers, the band shirt, marching jacket, headwear, a plume, gloves and they cannot forget their black socks. The bibber is similar to overalls, which is designed to stay on. As for the plume, it is a bunch of feathers kept together by a twisted wire, it is placed in the middle front of your headwear to make it seem fancy or presentable. Other types of equipment would be the podium, props and most importantly, their instruments, as for color guard they must have their props, and flags. However, for soccer, their uniforms consist…

American football as we know it originated from rugby played in Britain in the mid-19th century. The person who Americans consider the “Father of American Football” is Walter Camp. Professional football can be traced back to 1982, when there was a $500 contract for the Allegheny Athletic Association and the Pittsburgh Athletic Club to play a game against each other. Originally football was primarily a sport of the Midwestern industrial towns in the United State. In 1902, the American Professional Football Association was formed and two years later the National Football League. The competition was fierce between the two leagues, which led the two leagues to merge. Football eventually became national. When the two leagues merged is when…
