Napoleon Journal Entry Analysis
Journal Entry 1
I have been debating invading France, because I know I have some connection to the throne and want to build England into a more dominated powerhouse. This invasion might create some chaos among the people of England, but I believe after the invasion we, the great home of England, will be ecstatic over the newly dominated France throne. The people of England will have to take roles within the war, but I think the war will create more wealth and prosper from now into the future. I believe we will be dominant and I will finally claim the throne of France which I am entitled to, and this domination will set England up to be more powerful than ever before. It will not only benefit the country itself, but it will benefit every person

I asked Cambridge, Scope, and Gray advice about a situation less but similar to their case, and I was looking for their reactions to be brutal to show their cohesion with me. At the same time, I thought they would be relaxed considering they were possibly choosing a punishment for themselves. None of them were smart enough to think the drunken man who spoke out against me should be let free, but when it came to their fate they were pleading me to let them live. They thought a low-life man just wandering about should be killed, but the three of them who were plotting against me were to live. I thought asking them how to react would be the best way on how to choose their own punishment. These three men could have caused a bump in the road on the way to dominating France, but luckily, I was a step ahead of them. Now I am wary about any of my allies and trusty servants, because anybody could be plotting against me just because of my power. In order to succeed and fulfill my goals, I need to watch out for anyone along the road who seems like they are getting just a little too close to me. Anybody in this world would step in my way to invading France, but I need to appear like I do not know any of their intentions but in reality, I want to be a step ahead of all of my surrounding people and in general the common

Gemma Betros utilizes Napoleon's vacillating, and contradictory personality, within his highly motivated military techniques to describe his ambitions during his early life, successes, and defeats. Throughout history, many historians and other students have become very interested with Napoleon Bonaparte's empire, this fascination often lies in questions and speculations about his personality. Napoleon often found it hard to “articulate his true intentions” and many memoirs offer insight but do not quite grasp the true meaning of his personality. Memoirs also only give us a glimpse of his personality during a certain period, not how it changed over his 51-year reign. This lack of information about his true personality leads Napoleon to be a…

B: There is one idea that you are correct about, and it is that Britain has done wrong against us for ten years. When does it become too much for us to handle? When do we become another territory that does the work the King wishes upon no “fine englishman”? When will this happen? Now. Now is the time to fight. Now is the time for us to join together as one nation and fight our oppressors. Many of us left England due to oppression, and they brought it to us in another country. I beseech you Sir, consider my words, let them empower you to join the true fight for…

The short story, “The Things They Carried”, by Tim O’brien, was my favorite reading of this week. The author states what the company is carrying, as well as emotional burdens that they carry. I think that theme of this story can be summarized as “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. As I stated in the discussion, I think this story makes a profound point about trauma and emotional stress. Physical burdens are easily observable. For example, when people see someone in a wheelchair their thoughts are most likely automatically sympathetic. However, when people see someone having a panic attack they might just assume that the person is overreacting. Nobody knows what emotional burdens someone holds. Therefore, it is wrong to judge people on appearance alone and assume that one knows the full story.…

My name is Guy Johanson, and I am a sophomore Music Education major at the Setnor School of Music. I am originally from Liverpool, NY, just outside of Syracuse. I have been involved with Syracuse University since the time I was in middle school participating in youth ensembles playing the French Horn and the Oboe. Currently I am a member of the Syracuse University Marching Band, Tau Beta Sigma (the national band sorority), and am usually playing with many ensembles around campus. I work at Old Navy in Destiny USA during school breaks, while during the school year I work at the Cathedral Academy at Pompey as an after school music program teacher. My strongest skill that I possess, I believe, is my ability to time manage. Throughout the past year and a half, I have learned to balance 19+ credits, sorority involvement, and working two jobs during the year.…

The essay on His Race for Race was a very descriptive essay. The essay spoke on the color of Barack Obama which showed the racial barriers he went through today as our president. Obama is very good with speeches and debates he mastered that from his days on the Harvard Debate Team. One point in the 2008 presidential campaign a white lady showed a racial stereotype due to ignorance by saying “she isn’t voting for Obama because he was Arabian.” Obama comes from a very large diverse family and culture.…

The event that most interested me was the slave trader video. How they took a prince and broke him. He still was able to survive and still run a plantation just like the tribe he was from. It must take a lot of self will to survive in the conditions they were put in on the boat, then to get off and still be no better than cattle. Though slavery was equally as tragic and traumatic for black men and women, the experience of slavery affected them in different ways. "Depending upon their age and gender, slaves were assigned a particular task, or tasks, that had to be completed during the course of the day." In certain settings, men would participate in the hard labor, such as working on the farm, while women would generally work in the household. They would "be sent out on errands, but in most cases their jobs required that they spend much of their time within their owner's household." These gender distinctions were mainly applied in the Northern colonies and on larger plantations. In Southern colonies and smaller farms, however, women and men typically engaged in the same roles, both working in the tobacco crop fields.…
