My strageties for my essay is to let people know that they not just hurting the person who they are angry at but the families as well. Your decision affcted multiple people in life. Whay ruin your life over a beef? Why must people be scared to walk down the street? You can't even call the police in fear that they may kill you as well. Every action has a reaction and its not to anyones satisfaction. My intended audience is everyone. Because everyone matters and can make a diiference. In the book the main character Ishmael discovers that America is not at all like he heard through rap songs. When he moves to America and tells his story of being a soldier and killing people the people he talks to about it think that it is cool and Ishmael states in the book “violence in America is romanticized. I do agree with this statement that we do make war look easy and fun through movies and video games. We do not understand what it is like to be in a war and witness killing and bloodshed every day.…

Richard (a.k.a Slice) looked on the news after taking a hot shower in the morning and he saw that riots and protests were happening all over the country. The reason behind these riots, and protests is police brutality towards the african-american community. Even though people don’t think so there is still a lot of racial discrimination going on in today’s society, where black people are being killed for no reason. So Slice got dressed and headed to school where this topic of police brutality had been on his mind all day. For some reason, when his teacher Ms.VanZegeren said the class needed to write an essay on problems in today’s society, it was a perfect chance for him to express how he felt about police brutality.…

Almost every time I turn on the tv, or go online, I hear about yet another shooting. These shooting are happening everywhere, from schools, and churches, and even in movie theaters. It is frightening going out in public, knowing anybody could have a gun and ready to attack. If you look at statistics, the number of shootings in America is far greater than any other country. Obviously, something needs to be done about this. There absolutely needs to be some kind of better gun control laws. There is no reason that just any mentally unstable person can get a hold of a gun and kill countless innocent victims. I am all for Americans having the right to protect themselves, however, there needs to be some kind of change to help get this country to a safer…

Public service announcements are maybe a solution to the mass shootings that occur in our society, an example of a PSA would be anti-smoking smoking ads. Anti-smoking ads are aimed towards “rebellious” teens; teens who hate being told what to do and how to do it. The ads usually depict a teen having to always give up free time or spend their hard earned money which explains the consumption that smoking has over their lives. PSA’s should also focus on the kinds of individuals who commit these mass shootings, talking about and illustrating the consequences that comes with the horrible acts will most likely make a person think twice about carrying out a mass shooting. They could also explain the toll it takes on the victims families and/or anyone else who might be affected in a negative way.…

These shootings have to stop and when they do happen I feel like everyone should know about this tragedy that keeps recurring in our country. Many shootings happen daily and only a few make it to the headlines or are major on social media. But all of these shootings need to be stopped or we need a new way for people to protect themselves at all times in case of a shooting.Last year there wasn’t even eight days that went by without a shooting…

“Police killings are beginning to get out of control”, is what many people are saying. We shouldn’t have to say that, in fact, it shouldn’t be something that is happening in the first place. Whether it was justified, or not, things need to change. There are too many unjustified police shootings. Something needs to be done. We can’t just sit here, waiting for another shooting. I feel like these officers need to be brought to justice.…
