Narrative Is a Husky the Right Pet for You?
Is the Siberian husky the right dog for you?

At a very young age I was always fascinated with huskies, there beauty and wolf like features. My parents never let me have one; we had other dogs but never a husky. I can see why now. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into until about a year ago that I got one; don’t get me wrong, I would never trade her for anything in this world. This Angel had her own plan. This past year has been an amazing experience with these free spirited, mischievous natured dogs.
This is how it all began. Twelve months ago I went to take my children to their new friend’s house to have some play time and get to know each other better. I met their parents and everything was going well; Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a crate with a beautiful white husky with piercing icy blue eyes, it was love at first sight! It was then that I said I want one so bad. Two weeks later I got a phone call from them asking me if I knew of anyone that wanted to adopt their husky, needless to say I didn’t hesitate to answer I wanted her, an hour later I had her home.
Her name is Angel. For the next two days I was off from work so I was able to spend some time with her so she can get adjusted to her new surroundings, everything seemed to go pretty well. The following day I put her in the crate and went to work. On my way home that evening I was excited to get home to see my Angel, I found myself with a huge surprise! She got out of the crate and destroyed my Christmas tree and ate some of my plants! Luckily they weren’t poisonous, I was very upset. I cleaned everything up and fixed my Christmas tree.
The following day I spent some time with her and went to work as scheduled, I put her back in the crate and off I went. Throughout the day I was nervous to come home and find a disaster again, wondering if she managed to get out of the crate again. Well she did and this time she went into my

She gave me a box, and put the guinea pig in it. We went to the car and I opened the box during the ride home. He was running around, and looked very nervous. We got home, and I put him in the cage, I had already set it up. I took him out after blocking anywhere he could get stuck and die with blankets and pillows. He ran around hiding behind everything he could. After this I decided to give him the name Wolf in irony, as he was very timid.…

The next morning Chico was a sad sight to be seen. He tried to bark and me but eventually stopped. You would think I would enjoy the silence, but I didn't. Sure, he had been corrected: but at what price? Before I moved in, he was a happy, carefree dog and now becuase of my awkwardness has got his balls chopped off, which caused an unsufferable itch he wasn't able to scratch, and if he felt pissed off by any of this, he would get a mighty great shock off it too. With all our differneces aside, I felt pretty damn shitty to say the…

My dog, Pepper, is a black Cocker Spaniel, and she loves to greet her owners at the door when we walk in. Her little butt starts wagging really fast, and she has the biggest smile on her face. On Friday the 13th, I was walking inside my house with a friend. I wasn't thinking of my little dog being right there. When I stepped inside, I heard a loud squeal. Pepper quickly ran from me, and my mom rushed to the door. I realized that I had accidentally stepped on my poor puppy's paw. I…

I knelt beside her, my hand automatically reaching to scratch behind her left ear, which was her sweet spot. Just the day before, she was running around, jumping and playing with the other dogs. She had been barking at a squirrel less than an hour before my dad returned, and then she had laid down and went to sleep. She had been in one of her favorite places in the world, Ya Ha Tinda.…

After my mom washed this dog, she told me that we needed to take help Drake out by taking him on walks, so we did. Every day I was at school excited to take him out to the park and run around and play. I had been a couple months when we came to the conclusion to start taking him home here and there. He grew happier and more attached everyday, excited to see us every time we picked him up from the rescue, and so did I. It was around this time when we started to take him with us to the church meetings and he was not really dog friendly, so that did not go so well. Shortly after we signed foster papers, which meant he was with us full time, but the rescued owned him and payed for…

Today is the day. I felt it when I was watching her get ready for college this morning. And I knew today was the day when she fought with her mother this morning just before she had to leave. Today she will be mine. That beautiful creature will be completely mine. I had to wait until she was far enough away from her home but also far enough away from her college. I decided now was the time. It was now or never. I parked and let the “fear for my dog's life” consume me. I made sure that the chloroform was secure in my pocket and ran towards her. She looked so surprised which made me love her even more. When I told her my story she actually believed me and ran back to my truck with me. Just as we got out of sight I grabbed her and held the chloroform over her mouth and nose and waited.Once she was finally out, I put her gently in the back of my truck and made sure that she couldn't…

In el salvador there are more stray dogs than people in certain places and its a house rule that you dont feed or pet them no matter the reason or how scrawny or near death they may be. My grandmother the one who made this rule, was the first to break it. My grandmother was born in bloomington indiana into an alcholic family both my great grandmother and grandfather were alcholics for most of their lives and so are most of of their children now, up until 2012 my grandmother was an alcholic and for most of my child hood I dont have good memories of her but while I was in el salvador the grandmothe I had always hoped for returned. When I was little and my mother left to adopt my siblings in ukraine my grandmother stayed with us for months at a time and I do not remember these times fondly my grandmother was still a drunk and extremly abusive this was 7 years ago and after this happened I didnt see my frandmother for many years almost 3 or 4. until my grandmother stopped drinking but even then it still wasnt like what I saw when my granparents retired to el salvador. For the first time in my life my grandmother was kind and caring to the best of her ability which is astonishing considering shes bi polar and legally crazy, its not a short stretch to say that for the first time I saw her as a human being and not the demented being she once was. This changed me but it wasnt nearly as much as when she had me feed a starving puppy one day, I didnt know when I fed this dog that hed eventually become “my dog “ but it felt good to try and help him. I learned the back story to this dog a few hours after he left, it turns out his former “owners” kept him tied to a tree 24/7 and didnt feed him so that he…

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you would do anything for it? The privilege I badly want is to get a husky puppy and I believe it would be beneficial. Getting a husky puppy would be beneficial because it would teach me how to be patient, it would show me how to take care of something other than myself, and it would teach me responsibility. My parents may counter-argue that getting a husky is a bad idea because I wouldn’t spend enough time with her/him, I wouldn’t train him/her correctly, or that I would not take care of it properly. I am here to prove to you why those arguments hold no value.…

Penny was the sweetest, smartest dog, and anyone that met her came to this realization themselves. She was abused by her previous owners and in 2009 she was left in a backyard to die after they moved out. November 10th 2009, I got my little angel, and ever since then she has slept with me and followed me everywhere, even when I only moved five feet. If it weren’t for Penny, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I probably wouldn’t be applying to colleges right now. I got Penny right before an extensive rough patch began in my life, and if it weren’t…

    Adopt A Dog Analysis

I truly enjoy your story about finding your perfect dog and how much your grandmother cares for you. Nothing makes me happier than hearing stories about dogs in shelters finding loving homes, and I am glad you had the chance to adopt one with someone who obviously loves you and the dog. Not only does this story show how compassionate she is, the fact that your grandmother gave you permission to adopt a dog of old age also shows how loving and caring she is. Most people buy young puppies from breeders and animal shelters, which leaves old, rescued dogs without homes for the remainder of their lives. However, since your grandmother is kind and respectful of your wishes, Gator is one of the few elderly dogs in the world who got the chance at a…
