Both of the stories share a lesson type but also differ from each other in their stories Referring to the story of Cupid and Psyche and Ashputtle they share many different Archetypal patterns. For example they each are three sisters and the sisters are either cruel and jealous to begin with or become so throughout the story and the main character gets supernatural help to aid them during their tasks. With ashputtle her lesson is more of if you stay kind and not overly wantful you will be rewarded and that karma will come back to take care of the evil doers.
