It is very important to develop our individual reading ability in our country. Not only on how to pronounce the words but also how to spell it in a correct spelling and if you can really understand the meaning of this words. Reading is one of the major problems in our education, it’s because people are lazy to read, and some are no reading materials at all. We are lack on reading materials that we used. If the government was focused on our education and if they give much time and effort in providing our reading materials maybe people can have an interest to read. If we have our reading materials maybe students can read in any kind of place maybe in school, in their own house, etc. maybe also it could be reading is their habit.
They need also the support of their own parents. Even though the parents don’t know how to read maybe their children can teach them on how to read. Teachers also teach their students on how to read so that they can also comprehend. Many programs in reading must be implemented so that we can use our ability to read a lot. We can develop our own reading it is very important because if you want to gain knowledge you pursue yourself in reading. We can develop the reading abilities of each individual in the used of reading materials but what if the person itself is not interested to read. Students must have an interest to read so that they can gain knowledge as well as they can know how to pronounce the words, the stress, and the syllabication of each word.
The best way on how we can diagnose this problem we should teach students on how to read but I itself must read so that the knowledge that I can get, I can share it to them.

There are many reasons why a student may be struggling with reading comprehension. One possibility could be the student’s low proficiency in reading fluency. When students struggle to decipher the text they are not focusing on gaining knowledge from what is being read. Leading to the fact that all of the students cognitive ability is being focused into properly reciting the correct words while little effort it put into the meaning of what is being read (Woolley, 2010). Another possible reason for reading comprehension problems may also be related to a lack of prior experiences or a lower socio-economic environment (Jitendra & Gajria, 2011). To be skilled in reading comprehension, it is essential for students to be able to associate the text with their own prior knowledge. If a student has had limited experiences or comes from an upbringing that is dissimilar from what is in the text they are reading, comprehension can be an extremely complicated task.…

There are many different warning signs and characteristics of an at risk student. Most of these characteristics are the kind of personality they have and the reading skills they do or do not have. These students are reluctant to participate in any type of reading activities and do not see the value of being able to read. Struggling readers make many errors and do not focus on the actual words as much as trying to figure out the story from the pictures they see or from what words they can read. They do this to hide the fact that they cannot read. A negative attitude about reading and toward themselves is normally very present in at risk readers. The students avoid reading as much as possible and when they are reading they give up much easier than other students. If there is any child that has a good amount of these characteristics they are most likely struggling at reading and reading activities. (3)…

In comparison, when students are reading with a teacher they are more nerves and more likely to make mistakes when reading. Maisinger, Schwanenflugel, Bradley, and Stahl (2004) in their study concluded when students are given the opportunity to participate in partner reading they have higher self confidence based on the positive feedback they receive from their partner. The research also measured students ability to stay on task when given the responsibility of reading with a selective partner. Students did follow directions and worked according to the given instruction (pp. 134- 137). Helping students improve their fluency is helping them over come those challenging words they continue to struggle with. It is important for teachers to motivate students to develop literate lives both in the classroom and in society. For some children the desire and importance of literacy is not instilled within the home so teachers need to be prepared to handle this job on their own. In my opinion students need to understand the importance of being literate. They need to understand that reading, writing, listening and speaking are essential to functioning in society. Everyday our lives revolve around our literacy. It seems nearly impossible to live a functional and successful life as an illiterate individual. If students do not understand the significance of literacy…

The success of one's career and education is dependent upon their reading ability. Without the ability a read, a person cannot enjoy all this world has to offer, such as reading about world history, driving a car, reading a letter from a friend, or learning a new language. Reading unlocks doors that would otherwise be locked forever. In recent years there has been a great deal of debate on the methods used to teach our children how to read; parents and teachers need to determine whether the whole language, phonics or a combination of both methods is the most adequate approach for teaching their children to read.…
