In Iceland, researchers have found a strong correlation between the attainment of higher education, and the consequence of lower reproduction of offspring due to having children later in life . The 100,000+ person study, performed by the Icelandic genetics company deCODE Genetics , found that individuals who carry the genetic framework and aspiration to obtain a longer education, more often than not, declined to have a large family in comparison to people who obtained lower levels of education. Individuals who are immersed in a pursuit of greater amounts of higher education are more likely to be averse to having a sizeable amount of children in part because the time they are willing to devote to raising a family is lesser, and the timing of their reproductive will kicks in later in life.
