The rich got even richer due to technology. They were able to create goods much quicker and sell them more cheaply than before. The middle class factory owners were able to move up the the high class. A lot of the rich were able to build and move into big mansions collect fine arts, and create museums and libraries. For the poor their lives changed but did not improve, they were able to work but had dangerous and filthy working conditions. Even with the whole family working it was hard for them to make a living.
The gilded age was a time for rebuilding and a good time for wealthy but yet bad for the poor. Many things happened including economic, social, and political changes. Both positive and negative effects took place during this age. The changes on the poor, middle class, and wealthy were big.
