Neonatal: Pediatrics and Job Openings
If you could pick any career in the world, and you were willing to put the work into to succeed, what would that career be? When I answer that question I wouldn’t even have to think about it. My answer would simply be to work as a Neonatologist. In this essay I will be talking about just that occupation. I will explain the job, I will tell what classes or courses are needed to become a Neonatologist, and I will list cities and locations where my job can be found. Also, I will talk about personal qualifications needed to get to this job, I will describe average earnings and benefits, I’ll describe the future outlook for this job, and many more detailed descriptions! First off, I better tell you what the career consists of, so throughout this report you will have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about. Neonatology is a specialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn babies, especially the sick or premature newborns. It is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). The basics of neonatologists are newborn infants who are ill or need extra medical care due to a variety of problems. Such as, prematurity, low birth weight, congenital malformations (birth defects), pulmonary hyperplasia, and intrauterine growth retardation. You might be asking how I might get to do all of this special care; well it takes lots of training and classes. This is also what I’m going to talk about next. Neonatology takes a lot of special training and education. Of course, the first step is to graduate from high school. The next step would be to receive training as a pediatrician, and then complete an additional training called a fellowship for three years in neonatology. You also have to be board certified. Every nursing school requires its students to have a certain level of completion in English and math. For math you have to pass statistics, college algebra or any college-level course that you want.
