Professor: Using Cisco Discovery Protocol and Managing Cisco Devices Lab (40 points)
Write a paragraph (a minimum of five college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCOs and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (16 points)

Copy and paste the following screenshots from the Using Cisco Discovery Protocol and Managing Cisco Devices Lab below.

Task 1, Step 3: On NYEDGE1, verify that Cisco Discovery Protocol is enabled and that CDP packets are being sent every 60 seconds using a show command. Take a screenshot of the output. (2 points)

Question: Other than the rate at which CDP packets are being sent, what other information is available about directly connected devices? That they are getting CDP packets every 60 seconds, and the switch holding directly connected devices CDP packets for 180 seconds.
Hint: Read and study the explanations within the lab for assistance. (4 points)

Task 1, Step 7: Enter a show command on NYEDGE1 that will list the IP addresses for all directly attached Cisco devices. Take a screenshot of the output. (2 points)

Question: What is the difference between using the “show cdp entry {device}” and the “show cdp neighbor detail” commands? The show cdp entry command will list devices that have CDP enabled and if Layer 1 and Layer 2 are being used. The shop cdp neighbor command shows what is attached and it list the model and all software running on it.
Hint: Read and study the

(8 points) ok since this was the same as last week switch router setup, it was entering the same commands basically but seem shorter. So I learned a switch set up is a much longer process, maybe because a switch is hardware based. It relates to this week’s TCO’S by understanding addressing, theory of how switches and bridges are basically the same. As with that this is good to know for a future job so that you can determine where and when you need to use a switch or a bridge to accomplish your network goals.…
