Networking Concepts - Summary
Networking concepts

Networking is whereby one links computing devices along with software and hardware which support communication of data across the devices. Computer networks allow people to share files among customers, coworkers, friends and family. Networking changes how and where we work and who we do our business with. This paper is going to discuss about a telecommunication network, which is an arrangement of telecommunication, and computing resources for the communication of data and information over distant locations. The aim of this paper is to find the easiest and cost-effective method of connecting two separate networks.

A relatively simple device called a bridge, which is implemented through a combination of hardware and software, achieves interconnection between two networks that are the same. Interconnection between networks that are not similar, for example, a Wide Area Network and a Local Area Network can be achieved through as much more complex device called a router. A router is a device, which can accept messages that are in a certain format produced by one particular network and translates them to another format that is used by another network.

In this particular case of Nancy, a director of network infrastructure, it is not likely that a full replacement of networking equipment is required. Alternative A, which is about installing a few devices in the headquarters of OB. The advantages of this alternative are that is that it is the easiest, the least expensive and the quickest to implement. The other advantage is that this approach will have a very small impact on the network infrastructure. The disadvantage of this approach is that there will be performance penalties due to lack of integration in the architecture of the network.

The second option is replacing the network components of OB’s entire network for it to use the same protocols as BEB and the two can communicate freely. The advantage of this approach is that there will be a

Bridges are networking devices that can connect 2 local area networks (LAN). A bridge can learn all of the MAC addresses on the network, and this is done during the bridges data gathering phase. Basically a bridge will receive the data and analyze the address. The bridge will then pass the data on to the correct address. The ports on a bridge are in and out, but they are smart ports with the ability to locate the address on the network.…

The many complexities of network design are vast, wide and most often tailored to the customer and their uses. In the case of Kudler Fine Foods the network is the backbone of the company compromising the bulk of communications as well as the point of sale network. The design of these networks is a collaborative procedure aimed at ensuring that the services provided meet the needs of the customer. In the search of the ideal plan for network development I will discuss and explain principles of distributed and centralized computer systems. Accomplishing this by describing different network topologies; the standards and protocols that are essential to networking. The responsibilities essential in providing telecommunication services to include security, privacy, reliability and performance. How we distinguish and understand the uses of voice over the internet protocol, Centrex and other forms of telecommunications. With our main goal is to develop a system to utilize in our company that will ensure a proper management of our resources. The timeline for this is to have an implemented plan in place within 30 days of commencement. Our outline of six months to have the plan implemented is not outside the rational. Considering the internal and external resources implemented in the project.…

The total number of network and subnet bits equal an address’s prefix. If a Class A address of 10.10.33.46 has a mask of 255.255.224.0, then all of the 1s in the binary form of that mask, which totals 19, would be the prefix. In CIDR notation, the address would be seen as 10.10.33.46/19.…

I will design a Local Area Network (LAN) for DesignIT, a Local Area Network (LAN) is a network of computers, and other network devices such as printers which exchange data, and are located under one roof. LAN networks are mostly used in small organizations or small businesses. The computers in a LAN communicate through protocols and share data such as files and emails. Every computer in a network is assigned a unique Internet Protocol (IP). When a computer communicates by sending a request to the LAN network, it is routed to a particular server that has the requested data. The server then communicates back to the IP address of requesting computer with the information that was requested (Kenyon, 2002). There are three servers for DesignIT, the Web Server will be used to connect the company to the internet, and the File Server will be utilized for sharing while the Small Business Server will be utilized as a Mail Server.…
