Company Overview
Neveplast is an Italian based company that manufactures and installs artificial ski and snowboard slopes. The technology was first invented and patented by the Italian duo Aldo Edoardo and Niccolò Bertocchi in 1998. The founders were fanatical skiers whose aim was to revolutionize the winter sport and bring it to life in the heat of summer. The concept relied on their synthetic formula that evolved through a repetitive trial and error process. The plastic-like material is designed to mimic snow conditions while giving riders a high degree of lateral grip. Neveplast claims their formula has achieved an identical friction coefficient of snow while maintaining this grip using a concentric arrangement of conical stems. The high degree of the architectural integrity allows these mats to be assembled on almost any compact surface and is guaranteed by Neveplast.
Bertocchi and Edoardo strived to innovate and promote alpine skiing to an ever-demanding public. In the past 15 years Neveplast has installed more than 500 artificial slopes in 42 countries across the world including Sweden, France, USA, Australia and Canada. Neveplast has landed on a number slopes in North America of including Canaan Valley Resort in West Virginia where the resort spent $56,000 on two tubing runs with hopes of generating higher revenue in summer months. The most noteworthy appearance came in 2006 during the opening ceremonies of Winter Olympic Games in Torino where Italian alpine skiers such as Giorgio Rocca used the artificial slopes to train
Over the course of the firms history Neveplast has successfully built upon the initial concept by adding a variety of lines tending to specific sports.
