SAINTS STRUGGLES
When the Saints first became a NFL football team a lot of their fans were mad because the Saints could not win consistently and in general the Saints were just not a good team. Drew Brees is the Saints quarterback and he is an above average quarterback. Because Drew was a good quarterback, on the off season the Saints didn’t add another quarterback on the team because they had a lot of confidence in Drew. Also they did not sign Drew Brees an extension to his contract. Many fans and coaches say that Drew Brees is capable of playing many more good seasons. The fans think that as long as Drew Brees is playing, the saints have a good chance of winning another Super Bowl. This shows that the Saints have a lot of confidence in their quarterback. When Jairus Byrd was on the Saints he was a free safety. Jairus's contract was about to end and he had a really high contract. So the Saints wanted to trade Jarius because he costed a lot of money and he wasn’t really that good. Then Jarius started to get better so they signed him another contract. Now the Saints defensive line is one of the best lines in the league because they have Cameron Jordan, Nick Fairley, and a rookie named Sheldon

When football first started as a sport, teams were being built around a tough, solid defense that would take pride in hitting players so hard that the ball would get pried loose causing a turnover. Now teams are forgetting about the hard hitting players and are drafting all-star receivers and deep throwing quarterbacks. Part of this is because of the media and part of it is because of the rulebook (Easterbrook). More and more people are starting to watch the NFL and because of that organizations are starting to care more about their fans…

The Bucs were one of the most disappointing teams last season after a solid offseason and plenty of hype (some of it by yours truly). Dirk Koetter got to keep his job even though his team took a gigantic step back in 2017 on both offense and defense. Tampa Bay desperately needed pass rush help and got it in Vita Vea and Jason Pierre-Paul. But the offense had no reason to struggle like it did in Jameis Winston’s third season.…

The novel Moby Dick by Herman Melville is an epic tale of the voyage of the whaling ship the Pequod and its captain, Ahab, who relentlessly pursues the great Sperm Whale during a journey around the world. The narrator of the novel is Ishmael, a sailor on the Pequod who undertakes the journey out of his affection for the sea. He also doesn’t want to be in an important position, such as captain or cook, because then he’d have responsibilities, and that would really get him down to work and be able to have things to fill up his schedule during the day. Ishmael says that being a lowly sailor and getting ordered around does take some getting used to. He hadn’t really packed many things for his voyage just a few carpetbags and clothes. When he had entered the spouter inn he looked around being amazed about…

February 7th, 2010. Super Bowl XLIV. Four years post Hurricane Katrina. As smoke cleared from “The Who” halftime concert, Thomas Morstead, the kicker for the New Orleans Saints, set to kick the ball off to the Indianapolis Colts to start the third quarter. With the Saints down 10 to 6, and Indianapolis’s Chad Simpson standing in his own end zone ready to return the kick off, Saints Head Coach, Sean Payton, called one of the gutsiest plays in the super bowl era of football. Thomas Morstead standing at his own 30 yard line executed the only on-side kick before the fourth quarter in NFL history. The ball traveled 15 yards before being touched by Hank Basket, an Indianapolis Colts player, who could not make a clean recovery. The ball ended up at the bottom of a pile of bodies all fighting for it. It took over a minute for the officials to clear bodies out of the pile and determine who definitively recovered the on-side kick. Chris Reis, a safety for the New Orleans Saints, came out of the pile victorious. The Saints would subsequently score a touchdown, taking their first lead of the game.…

After wild high school experiences and memorable nights out with teenage friends, there comes a time to grow out of this lifestyle and into responsible, young adults. This was definitely the case for the two gangs within the town of Hanibal, the Saints and the Roughnecks. Most members of the two gangs are now respectable men who have achieved college degrees and started their own families, although their teachers from back in high school may tell you a different story. The gangs’ mischievous actions led to the different labelling of the two groups. The two gangs received treatment from opposite ends of the spectrum, the Saints were seen as respectable young men, while the Roughnecks were categorized as nothing but trouble. The teachers’ and community’s perception of the members of each gang has played a role in how the members of each gang’s lives have developed. When contrasting actions and behaviors, social reactions and consequences, and the neutralization tactics used by the two gangs, it is evident that the Labelling Theory effects how both gangs are treated differently as well as unjustly.…

The difference between two NFL quarterback’s varies based on skill level and how much they want to succeed in the league. Not all Quarterbacks in the league will be hall of famers, and some of these players come into the league and will have to improve on their talents. Great quarterbacks ranging from Tom Brady and Drew Brees had to prove they were worth a starting job. For example, Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick and was a backup behind another QB. He went down and Tom entered the game to prove his worthiness for a football team; and the rest is history. This leads up to an NFL quarterback, by the name of Mark Sanchez. This quarterback had the glory and praise during his college career unlike Brady. However, Sanchez was not able to capitalize on that in once entering the league, because as a quarterback his mechanics and decision making proved he was not that much of a great player as stated in his college days. College skills compared to NFL skills does not always mean the football player will succeed in the ruthless league off the NFL.…
