All of these reasons are what persuaded me to invest in a company that I had previous knowledge of and knew would continue to prosper. Unfortunately, when we went to invest in this stock it was not available in the game. Therefore we then moved on in our search to the company Walt Disney. We thought Walt Disney would be a great stock to own because the holidays are approaching and reports show how Disney is at it’s busiest during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, therefore generating large revenues. Also, I was personally inclined to pick Disney because I have owned my own share of stock in this company since I was eight years old and it has profited me throughout the years. Our technique of using our prior knowledge in companies we were familiar with immensely helped us grow our portfolio. Overall, our reason for picking Disney was solely based on what we knew and did not incorporate the interesting, profitable technique of Peter Lynch. Peter Lynch created the idea of what is called a “blended” approach to picking stocks. Basically this approach encourages the user to first pick a company in which they have personal knowledge and experience
