Nnaemeka Letter To His Father
Love is so powerful to fail, it only takes time to build up. Our Dad always loved you and I was so glad that your relationship with him has been strong than ever after your marriage. Nnaemeka tried several times to reach out his dad in letters, sending pictures of his wife and sons, but he failed to bring him back. His father took it as insult and the beginning of the end. Because Nnaemeka broke tradition and went against his dad’s wishes. Amazingly, Nene became very strong and tried successfully to restore the broken relationship. She sent a powerful letter to his father in-law who for many years, refused to see her and her children. The letter stated:” …Our two sons, from the day they learnt that they have a grandfather, have insisted on being taken to him. I find impossible to tell them that you will not see them.” (par 41, pge 251). …show more content…
It was a moment where he became to think that he was going to die without making up to his son, it is a very touching part of the story, to see an old man running back to his son, a son he abandoned for many, many

    In “Once More to the Lake”, White uses a plethora of literary devices to describe his childhood. After taking his son to the spot that he goes visit often throughout his childhood years hit him waves of emotions. Missing his childhood was not the sole reason that hit him but looking at the things his son does reminds him so much of his childhood. White uses various themes and if one reads carefully the theme of Man versus Himself is vividly portrayed in the first paragraph of this essay.
