“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools speak because they have to say something” ~Plato. There are many ways communication can be “spoken”. Communication is categorized into three main variations between living organisms: verbal, non-verbal, and written. Verbal communication is the most common type of transmission. Verbal is also probably one of the most complicated considering how many different variations there are of the human language. The process of verbal communication is not a one way process but a two way. Verbal communication needs skills such as listening skills, clarification, and non-verbal communication skills. Non-verbal communication goes along the lines of body language, personalities, and facial expressions. Non-verbal transmission can be as simple as how someone where to dress. Non-verbal communication is very helpful when talking because it can show (for one) whether or not an individual is interested in the conversation. It is said that up to 55% of human communication is non verbal (Wikipedia communication/nonverbal). Although non verbal communication is very hard to read or understand it is a pure essential when giving a speech or conversation. Written communication has become more and more popular in today’s society commonly being used in texting. Due to the society of today the use of technology and online chatting has become more and more frequent. Written communication can use types of nonverbal communication thanks to the help of texting emoticons; which helps give a better idea of what the other individual is saying. Written language is technically a system of symbols and figures put together in specific patterns. As texting technology increases more and more we stray farther away from verbal communication and more towards written communication. All together the acts of verbal, nonverbal, and written communication composes of our everyday human communications. All species of living organisms have a way of communication even if it’s through biochemical means. In the future the advancement of technology might even allow for more different and unique ways to communicate with one
