'Nonconformist In The Pedestrian'

Live for something, not someone A conformist in society nowadays is someone who follows the rules and does what they’re told by their boss. In the book written by George Orwell, Animal Farm,the conformist in this book was the strong and mighty horse, Boxer, who lived under the harsh ruler’s power, Napoleon. A nonconformist is a someone who doesn’t obey the rules and lives at his own risk with their own rules. In the short story written by Ray Bradbury, The Pedestrian, a nonconformist in this short story is the only person who actually breathes fresh air and the only person in this world, Mr Leonard Mead. He was being controlled by the government in the year 2053 A.D. What makes a conformist and a nonconformist the same is that they both live in a society, but what makes them different is that the nonconformist decides to risk his life to be different than everyone else unlike the conformist that wants to be like everyone else. The conformist from Animal Farm, Boxer, was obeyed the ruler, Napoleon. The strong horse, Boxer, always did what he was told by Napoleon or even if he’s told that Napoleon said it, poor Boxer would do it. Boxer throughout the book Animal Farm basically wastes his life on trying to make comrade Napoleon happy which sadly makes his time period short and could have lived a longer period by being a nonconformist. Boxer could have led an uprising against Napoleon if he’d done way more than just doing what Napoleon wants, but for listening to Comrade Napoleon, he had no meaning to his life and died for no good
