Boxer's Role In Animal Farm

Boxer is a strong and devoted citizen of the farm. I believe that he played a great part in the success of Animalism and Animal farm. Throughout the story, we get to witness his great devotion for the cause as well as his unmatched strength on the farm. Boxer proved himself an incredible asset to the rebellion and to the construction of the windmill. When the all the animals had worked together to chase Jones off the farm, Boxer proved to be a great soldier by killing a stable-lad (accidently), p.17. He also demonstrated great strength when it came time to drag the boulders up the slope to the top of the quarry, p.24. Without Boxer, the construction of the windmill would have been a much harder task. As the story goes on, we see his determination increasing, but his strength leaving as well.
At first, he insisted on waking up half an hour earlier than the other animals to put in some volunteer work, p.11, then it rose up to three quarters of an hour earlier, p.25, and increased yet again to a whole hour before everyone else in the mornings, p.33. Don’t forget the fact that he would work for an hour or two at night alone when everyone was gone, p.27. Basically, Boxer greatly contributed the more physically demanding tasks. His personality can also be said to have been helpful to Animal farms’ success. He is a very trusting horse who gives his all to help everyone. His motto is "I will work harder " and "Napoleon is always right". However, we could also call him innocent and naïve. He blindly trusts Napoleon without a second thought which only made it easier for Napoleon to manipulate them and do whatever he wanted to. In short, Boxer helped Animal farm develop, but he also brought it to its doom. Sadly, he only realized what was going on when he was being brought to his death,
