Conformity In Animal Farm
Similarities in Conforming and Nonconforming Some choose to obey the standards of someone or a society but some do not. Boxer and Huang Zitao (Tao) play an important role in society. Boxer is a horse in the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell. Tao is a Chinese male who debut as a K-Pop idol. Tao is contracted in a Korean entertainment company called SM Entertainment. He was a K-Pop star in a boy band called EXO. Boxer played the role of following the standards of society and Tao did the opposite. Conformity and nonconformity are similar in that they both result in positive and negative consequences.
Boxer is a conformist who worked hard and have set an example as a hard worker that helped the farm prosper and never rebelled. He was always under the rule of someone. Mr. Jones used to own the farm and was in command. In Jones's time to Napoleon’s time, he had always been obedient. Napoleon and Mr. Jones are smarter

Some of the positive consequences are admiration and honor when he died. In the novel it quotes “Napoleon himself appeared at the Meeting on the following Sunday morning and pronounced a short oration in Boxer’s honour” (126). Napoleon is recognizing Boxer. Boxer’s work ethic is being noticed and announced at his funeral. When Boxer was working hard he was always being a role model. It quotes "Boxer was the admiration of everybody. He had been a hard worker even in Jones's time" (17) said the narrator. The narrator states that Boxer was being admired by everyone on the farm no matter what time of the day or year. In addition to his positive consequences, he was happy for a while. “The animals were happy as they had never conceived it possible to be” (24). Boxer was happy for this moment because he received food that he made himself with the other farm animals and it was only for him and the other animals in the farm. Boxer’s positive consequences were being looked up at, honor, and momentary

    Sure, Boxer was seen as strong and worthy of praise while he was well and healthy but he soon failed at doing so. Later on in the allegory Boxer got very ill and unable to work anymore.
